omelettes & frittata are am easy favourite of mine, Jacket spuds (sweet or white) quite often it's just leftovers from the tea the night before. I recently discovered oddly I like veggie bolognese served over shredded cabbage instead of pasta (couldn't be bothered to make Dolmades) if it's after a weights class anything protein high is great for muscle repair I sometimes sneak in a chocolate milk drink for that instant hit after a workout.

I now have bolognese or chilli with green veg instead of pasta or rice. Petit pois are my favourite, I don't even miss pasta or rice with these meals.

    Day 1 of 14, here I come!

Food is planned and I must remember to put an ice pack in the food bag. It's easy to have the motivation at this time of the morning! Ha ha. And the scales are my friends. - again - the fickle pest.

Thank you Fmess for starting this thread. It's enjoyable reading it and adding to it.

Have a good day everyone !

Many thanks Aggypanthus, I struggled more with it this time round (guess im getting old) which makes me more determined to keep check on my weight& fitness.

Your body has been through e'll and back have you asked your GP for a gym referral be worth having a chat with a personal trainer to put together an exercise plan tailored to your needs. it also might help your sleep pattern.

Typical it's a beautiful day and im going to be stuck in the hairdressers for most of it in a tinfoil hat, DH made a remark that he thought someone we know was younger than me when she has almost a decade on me  it's beside the point that she doesn't/has never look her age he can pay for me to have my hair done as punishment :rotfl:

    Have a fantastic day everyone

    Hi!

I hope you don't mind me joining in. A few years ago I lost about 1 and a half stone but I've slowly gained it back.... I have to admit it at some point!

I've always exercised 3-4 times a week at home (bike/cross trainer) but I've just joined the gym, so now doing cardio and weight training 3 times a week. I think my diet is OK, I have cut down my portions, the little sweets I did eat have been replaced with fruit or a weight watchers yogurt (I don't like chocolate but would have an occasional biscuit after tea), I'm trying to limit my crisps (oh I LOVE crisps - but never more than one multipack sized packet a day) and I don't snack between meals (never been a snacker).

My main issue is lunch! I never know what to eat and usually opt for a sandwich or a wrap. I go to the gym after breakfast, so fancy something tasty for lunch. I'm limiting my bread to two pieces a day (I usually have one at breakfast with my boiled egg) so I'm a bit stuck. I've been having tuna with red pepper, spring onion and lettuce recently but it doesn't seem to fill me. I had a small chicken salad for lunch and it didn't fill me either. What do you guys have for lunch? Any favourites? I'm at home, so doesn't have to be lunch box friendly and I'm not overly keen on soup!

    Thanks for any input!

I have a lot of leftovers for lunch, like chilli, bolognese, shepherds pie for example, I like cous cous mixed with cooked chicken or tuna, salad and potato wedges, jacket potatoes, that sort of thing.
I get up late as I dont go to work. I have been hampered by 7 months getting over breast cancer treatment, so am not overly active yet.

thanks for the other replies ladies, never heard of the skinny rules book, must google it.

lunches are tricky for me too, today I had 2 frylighted eggs and some beans.

    my usual is crisps!

How horrible, hope you are well on the way to recovery. I would say nourish your body with the best food you can afford, ditch the biscuits and crisps except for odd occasions as a treat. I know it is hard especially when you are at home all day (I work from home) but it can be done.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all,

Day 2 and Hubby hasn't cracked yet. He did sigh when I served up half the usual portion of garlic bread with the pasta last night but said nothing. He said he wanted to cut down on his bread intake ;)

    Menu today:
    - beans on toast for me/poached eggs on toast for Hubby
    - chicken salad
    - chicken curry and rice for tea

No exercise planned, weather isn't ideal for dragging him out for a walk tonight.

    Hello
I have not fully read through yet, but well done to everyone on weight losses it's fab.
I need to really stick to healthy eating and exericse as I am not happy with the weight I have put on, and I would like to look better for me to feel comfy and also nice for my OH too :) He does help me when he can but would be good to be in a group too to help.
I am currently 12st 4lbs and a size 14, I would like to be a size 12 or a size 10/12 again as I was a couple of years ago. Actual weight wise I guess I will start with a smalish weight goal and I can always extend as I progress :)
    GOALS:-
    Size 12
    Weight 11st 4lbs (14lbs)

I will have a read through some more posts.

    Evening all,

    Welcome new people :)

Yay for the nice weather :) and apparently it will last through the weekend too :)

After cancelling my exercise class yesterday, the instructor cancelled tonight's class! Will book on for one tomorrow, as well as Saturday and Sunday. I really need to start running before work again, may try that tomorrow.

    Breakfast was eggy bread
Lunch was new potatoes, cheese, carrot and cucumber
Dinner is BBQ meat and salad

OH has bought me a tub of ice cream so going to attempt portion control tonight!
