    Hello ladies,
how do you manage to stop eating for the day? Daytimes are fine then I get cravings to eat in bed late atnight. I am a very late sleeper and watch tv in bed.
I go for crisps or biscuits.
I wont buy more crisps from now, buti like a bicy with meds in the morning.
I am a hopeless dieter, just below 13st now, middle age expansion is a reality.

I don't stop eating for the day (not sure what you mean) I eat loads but choose sensibly and don't eat in the evening except on my two treat days. What time do you get up? I would recommend getting up early say 7/8 a.m. staying active all day and you may not have the energy to watch tv till late.

tori - 1/2lb is neither here nor there, at one time SW didn't even do the 1/2lb thing. I agree with you that the exercise is a key part of the whole process at what ever level.

I don't follow a formal diet as it only works for so long for me and I want this to be a lifelong change not a short term fix but at the end of the day if you want to lose weight and keep it off you have to say no to a lot of the temptations that come your way. It is really just bad habits which need to be broken.

I have completed an 8 mile bike ride this morning and am about to go out on a 45 minute dog walk and apart from the school run I think that may be the exercise done for the day.

B/F - oatso simple porridge, soya milk, squash
part 2 of breakfast after cycling - coffee, scotch pancake, flora

Lunch - John West Tuna & cous cous steam pot, w/m pitta bread, fruit and yoghurt.

Tea - Roast chicken, salad and h/m potato wedges.

    Have a lovely day guys.

    Hi all,

Been away for a few days on holiday so haven't caught up yet.

Hubby has decided (again!) he needs to lose weight as we had to climb 700+ steps and he's realised just how unfit he is after all. I admit, I was puffed out at the top and my heart was pounding but he collapsed in a heap, almost breathless. Nothing worse than your missus looking fitter than you to kick start a new regime eh?

SO the agreement is I will decide on all food we eat and he will not grumble about it...especially if I say no to a takeaway or a second bottle of wine.

He wants to lose 2 stone by December...

It must be good to have your hubby on board his missus, my OH is slim and isn't really interested in food, so we can never eat healthily together!

Today has been a good food day:
    Breakfast - eggy bread
    Snack - 2 biscuits
Lunch - new potatoes and salad
Dinner - poppadoms then chicken and veg curry (no rice or naan)

I have a batch of flapjack in the oven for OH (to try and stop him getting any skinnier) so will probably have a piece of that too.

I was scheduled to do a class tonight but had a meeting overrun and need to get some work done at home tonight so have rescheduled for tomorrow. Dolly all your daily exercise makes me feel like I do very little, although I used to do nothing, so I guess I'm doing a bit better!

Got in over 13k steps today, which is satisfying. And did a tough workout too. Have eaten ok apart from a 30 min blip - amazing what you can put away in 30 short minutes, eh?!

Tomorrow I shall be starting a 2-week eating plan that has worked for me in the past. I do hope I can stick to it! Basically, it's plenty of protein + green veg, with a starchy carb day every 4th day. It's not too different from how I've been eating recently, so requires only a few tweaks.

Bfast will be my cottage cheese plus ground almond (yep, giving up the dried milk for 2 weeks!)
Lunch will be soup (a green one this time - 6 veg - with 2 hb eggs and 50g ham)
    Tea will be... Protein
Snacks will be almonds, brazils, and cottage cheese before bed.

    Hi!

I hope you don't mind me joining in. A few years ago I lost about 1 and a half stone but I've slowly gained it back.... I have to admit it at some point!

I've always exercised 3-4 times a week at home (bike/cross trainer) but I've just joined the gym, so now doing cardio and weight training 3 times a week. I think my diet is OK, I have cut down my portions, the little sweets I did eat have been replaced with fruit or a weight watchers yogurt (I don't like chocolate but would have an occasional biscuit after tea), I'm trying to limit my crisps (oh I LOVE crisps - but never more than one multipack sized packet a day) and I don't snack between meals (never been a snacker).

My main issue is lunch! I never know what to eat and usually opt for a sandwich or a wrap. I go to the gym after breakfast, so fancy something tasty for lunch. I'm limiting my bread to two pieces a day (I usually have one at breakfast with my boiled egg) so I'm a bit stuck. I've been having tuna with red pepper, spring onion and lettuce recently but it doesn't seem to fill me. I had a small chicken salad for lunch and it didn't fill me either. What do you guys have for lunch? Any favourites? I'm at home, so doesn't have to be lunch box friendly and I'm not overly keen on soup!

    Thanks for any input!

Think sustainability is the key, so only cut out or reduce what you would be happy to do for life, makes it take longer but more doable. I calorie count which may seem stricter but I have found it easier as I work in my treats and feel guilt free. I literally have no banned foods and really enjoy / feel full on what I eat. I frequently put my food in the night before if I want to fit in a cheeky few glasses of wine etc, then work my day round it.

sounds like you have a good mindset.
I am rather sedentary atm, how many cals does the ave women use up daily?
I am focusing on a day at a time till the end of this month, then will make another goal after that.
I weighed 3 times today:eek: desparate to see my next loss.

I get up late as I dont go to work. I have been hampered by 7 months getting over breast cancer treatment, so am not overly active yet.

thanks for the other replies ladies, never heard of the skinny rules book, must google it.

lunches are tricky for me too, today I had 2 frylighted eggs and some beans.

    my usual is crisps!

omelettes & frittata are am easy favourite of mine, Jacket spuds (sweet or white) quite often it's just leftovers from the tea the night before. I recently discovered oddly I like veggie bolognese served over shredded cabbage instead of pasta (couldn't be bothered to make Dolmades) if it's after a weights class anything protein high is great for muscle repair I sometimes sneak in a chocolate milk drink for that instant hit after a workout.
