Thought I would just check back in - have been a bit busy (OH isn't so well at the moment, so I'm pretty much doing everything around the house/car/garden).

I'm very impressed with all the weight loss. Well done - keep it up.

The upside of having to do everything is that I'm using muscles I'd forgotten I had - in the last week I've stripped wallpaper, shifted furniture, cut the grass, and done some digging. I've also been running up and down a lot of stairs as climbing the stairs is what he finds hardest. Who needs step-classes!!

I've also been taking myself out for a walk if the weather's find - again, OH isn't really up for it at the moment, but I feel it's important that I look after my own health and well-being while I'm having to look after him.
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...

trailingspouse, sorry to hear about your OH. You are so right to keep looking after yourself.

dolly, awesome shrinkage! Especially after you felt you weren't losing weight. Can you find a bike on gumtree?

Well done fmess on the tinned tomatoes! Do get a pedometer! I have a fitbit and I love it!

tori.k, that gravel shifting soinds like a workout and a half! And you still planned to go to the gym?!

I hope to do a workout later on, but not a ZWOW! Will have to have a think, to ensure it is tough enough... Am thinking weighted squats, Santana push ups, V-ups, pull up(s)...

Have just done my workout and it was a sweaty-faced one! I adapted ZWOW 37, called 'Just Add Water'. It morphed into: 30 secs of each of
    - Santana push up Right (push up + T-up)
    - bodyweight squat
    - Santana push up Left
    - sumo squat
Keep going until 12 mins are up (ie 6x through)

Did a thorough Zuzana warm and and a good stretch, and the calf is doing ok so far. In total I did about 60 push ups (only 20 on my knees) and 120 squats.

I wore what I call my 'muffin top jeans' today. Because of the vast difference between my waist and my hips, I normally need a belt to hold my trousers up. But these jeans were a real ch shop find - right length, good colour, no belt required and a great price. The muffin top is reducing, which is good!

Tomorrow starts a new week, so I guess we need to set ouselves new targets. Half term will affect many of us, but not all. So my own goals will reflect the break and associated child-related activities and a less structured day.

1 5 hours of exercise (currently do 3hrs)
    2 no refined sugar
3 bed before 10PM..may even get to enjoy that one ;)
    4 lose at least 2LB
5 Not reward myself with food but treat myself with a pamper session, EG..paint my nails or a undisturbed soak in the bath..good luck to me getting that one :D

My last weeks targets weigh-in is tomorrow for me manage the exercise as I counting the hrs moving the gravel but I failed in the bed before 10PM twice, did well on the refined sugar (good job you reminded me Apple muncher a was going to have a higlight tonight) but did end up eating more carbs, and did enjoy my soak in the bath.

This week is an easier week for me so going to enjoy it

    1 5 hrs exercise
2 Low GI foods this week, an experiment on regulating blood sugars as it's time to start moving DH of the SW and onto a more clean foods. he eats a fair amount of things like muller light yogurts.
3 Reduce caffeine, I drink far to much coffee and not enough water
4 Spend less time online- bed earlier

applemuncher - I am turning into a bike snob I am afraid and have my eye on some more serious mountain bikes which should last several years, even second hand they are pricey but at least new you get some come back if there is a problem. I am looking at last years models on a couple so would get a better price. For now I will use DH's bike and just higher up the seat.

I won't be checking back in now until Friday/Saturday due to a very busy half term week.

    - exercise for 7 hours
    - eat one new food
    - buy a pedometer and once it arrives do at least 10,000 steps a day

GRR I want to be posting results! I am so jealous :-) (In a good way I promise lol)

I do use fitnesspal app but still useless with working out kcals with home made meals. -_-

I feel I've done sooo well but scales is not showing sighs of improvement... I let myself slip today mainly because we had a day out and their was a burger van.... hum.

I think its the not getting much exercise thats holding me back and I keep saying I will do some but I don't, on the plus side my mind set is totally focused on losing weight and watching what I eat. I did do a fair bit of walking today at least as we were out and about chasing my young one around.

Must get more focused and push this up a notch.

    Afternoon all,

Me too kayalana, need to focus and get some willpower too!

I'm quite upset it's not sunny but at least it means I stay indoors and get jobs done!

Today is going well so far (hoping not to jinx it!). I've done a 45 minute exercise class and walked the dogs for 40 minutes (85/420 minutes exercise). I've also tried watermelon (it was gross) but at least I did it. So far I've had salad leaves, a banana and some awfully tasteless raspberries, which I'm considering complaining about as they have no taste and are just water in the shape of a raspberry.

I weighed myself this morning and was 10st exactly. I know that with a couple of days of good diet, I can be back down to 9st 11lbs, so need to exercise off an extra pound to get to 9st 10lb by the end of the week. Feeling positive atm, so long may it continue.
