Stewby for me being at work is less tempting than being at home foodwise!! Hope it goes well tomorrow
Sounds like a challenging time of year for teachery types! You are an inspirational lot, its a tough gig.
Have had a rubbish couple of days eating and exercise wise but will follow Fmess example, tomorrow is another day, must do better! Think it may help me to focus my mind on the consequences of the choices I make too...
Today I gave into the temptation of Feraro Rocher (sp)!! The whole box.... ate lots of veg and drank lots of water tooSlopes off to the naughty step!!

I'd like to join in too if that's ok? Im 45 and about 1 stone overweight but the biggest issue is how, erm, flabby I am these days! I'm generally quite sedentary, Im an office worker, and Im also off sick from work just now. 3 months and counting
Ive got asthma so quite restricted in the type of exercise I can comfortably do. I tend to stick to walking. As Im off all day just now I tend to go for a walk every day. But I have to get up and at 'em! If I loll around in my jammies in the morning, having "another cup of coffee", I'll still be in jammies at teatime!
I live in a smallish town with a lovely loch which is where I walk. 2.5 miles right round the loch and I live about a half mile from it so this gives me a 3 mile walk which is perfect. Except for about a million flying beasties today! Not sure what they are but they're big and black hovery things so not your average Scottish midgy!
Im also trying to cut back on fattening foods - biscuits and sweets being my enemy! And alcohol. I go between vegetarianism and full meat eater but after reading about the halal meat hoohah, Im gearing towards veggie again!
Family had butcher sausages, chips and beans for tes. I opted for poached egg and beans on toasted seeded bread so quite healthy. But I ruined it by following it up with a Magnum Caramel & Chocolate lolly!
Oh well, tomorrow is another day!0 -

YummyI was sold at the chocolate dipped strawberries! Thank you
It's nothing particular I miss as when I calorie count I often still have some chocolates or sweets. It's more that I enjoy eating and feeling full, which sounds awful.
I think I need to have a good think about all the healthy things I like to eat and then make a shopping list so the healthy options are always with easy reach.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

I also fall foul to that issue of eating a whole cake because I had one slice and am disappointed in myself.
I think I need to consider the psychology of this healthy eating more as I am very impulsive and often eat food quickly and then think afterwards that I shouldn't have ate it and why.
I have this a lot. I buy a pack of four do-rings and plan to just eat one then get "eater's remorse" and decide to just eat the lot and to hell with it, I will just stay fat.
I think I need to start eating at the dinner table as I tend to eat in front of TV and as I am distracted I tend to not realise I am eating then it is all gone and I am still feeling hungry.
Perhaps... just a suggestion of course... maybe you should come off the diet for a couple of days then start again??
I have done this before (normally for a week) and it shocks my body all over again.
The other thing is to maybe try a different diet for a couple of months.
When my weight stagnated after I lost the two stones, I gave up trying and ended up even heavier than I started. But that was over the course of four years. Something to do with being comfortable in a relationship (apparently, it's a good excuse for having no self-control though).

Hello, am I too late to join?
I used to be very slim and toned and then through pregnancy, illness and sheer laziness I have become a plump frump. Not only am I unhappy with how I look I also worry that I am sending the message to my children that it is ok to eat rubbish and do no exercise.
Regularly I decide that I am going to keep fit and eat healthily however I never seem to see it through for any longer than a couple of days. This time however I real have had enough, I don't recognise the person looking back at me in the mirror and I want to change things before it is too late.
So I am going out tomorrow to get some running shoes and I am going to do the C25K and pilates as well as cutting processed sugar out my diet. I really need to change and I am looking onward to sharing my journey with you allTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Another day, a fresh start. Today we won't do 'guilty feelings' or 'disappointment'. We will enjoy life and have a spring in our step. Whatever comes at us - situations, people, temptation - we will smile sweetly and stick to our guns!
Fmess, I don't think I have special willpower, but I do try to make a decision and stick to it. 12 months ago, if I took sweets in for the kids, I'd have eaten half of them myself before the lesson. Heck, even before the start of lesson 1! I would try to have 'perfect eating' days, but never made it.
I'm not sure what's changed - tho my mindset seems to beone thing. I've read The 4 hour body book - devoured it! Ha ha! And also The Primal Blueprint. They advocate quite different things but were fascinating. I tend more towards Primal and the marksdailyapple.com website.
Being coeliac, I can't - and won't - have many grains. So a period of giving up ALL grains was an interesting experiment. Who can overeat when it's just protein and veg, nuts and seeds, and a little fruit? I'd like to sustain this, but haven't. But I don't eat processed carbs much.
Sugar. Hmmm. Yes, I was addicted. Couldn't live without it. Now I can! I have started setting a monthly target of sugar free days, like NSDs. So when I do have sugar - cake, sweets, choc, etc - it's planned, and WORTH it! And now, even dark chocolate tastes sickly sweet, so I may have to move up to 85% cocoa!
No weightloss this week, tho a slight inch loss. But I'm exercising hard and feeling good. My trousers are a tad less tight and I keep on moving.
Have an outstanding day! :TNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hello Happy Butterfly& Rummer,
Sound like you have a great plan Rummer, yoga & pilates would be ideal for your asthma Happy Butterfly low impact and toning. Tai Chi is next on the cards for me when the new class starts in September.
Circuit tonight im still going but will strap up and take out the weights it's usually more tummy work on a Friday due to it being just DH & I in the class and that where he needs to reduce his inches for his diabetes, I seem to carry mind around my backside and thighs, keep hoping the extra inches will just fall of the bottom of my feet
Food
Bfast yogurt& fruit
Lunch (on the hoof on a Friday)sandwich& more fruit
Dinner poached eggs and beans on WM toast
Snacks fruit & highlight
looking over for ease lately I seem to be eating more and more fruit and less veg so will look into making some friendly hummus and pick up some cottage cheese to have with veggies for snack ideas.
One thing I have found is listing the food im eating makes it so much easier to keep my diet balanced and tweak when needed.0
