Day 8 of no sugar is done!
I also did over 10k steps and ate my 10 veggies. Go me!
I do 'allow' myself fruit, but have found that grapes - my previous fave - or nanas are too sugary for my. I have apples - maybe 2 per day - either with peanut butter (lots of!) or almonds. And I also have berries - with my raspberry canes fruiting now, and the free blackberries out there, it's be tough not to have them!
My current fave 'dessert' is cottage cream (I am SUCH a fan) and ground almonds with sultanas. Sooo sweet!
So, yes, I avoid all processed sugar, added sugars. Some days I need to have more ideas up my sleeve, but in the last 8 days, I've really not been so hungry, as I'm getting oodles of protein. Mind you, I do eat loads for bfast which definitely helps, and I drink plenty of water.
Am hoping to do a workout tomorrow, to sneak one in early for September!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well done on the weight loss applemuncher.
Eyebright - your poor back, hope it gets better soon.
Yesterday I rode my bike, I love a big hill so there was one in there as usual, turns out I am doing the hills in a higher gear than DH - the lightweight.
Today will be a running day - again with a nice big hill.
No junk food today, I am making a hm mexican been soup for tea, I find hm soups really filling and super cheap.
Me and DH ordered our winter running and cycling gear online yesterday, I hope mine fit as I am tall with long arms and legs and struggle with running things mainly. We both got thermal hi viz jerseys, long sleeved base layers and thermal running tights plus I got full finger cycling gloves too. I intend to cycle 3/4 times a week over winter so I need to be able to meet lots of different weather conditions, running is easier as two minutes in and I am boiling whatever the weather.
Have a lovely Sunday guys, hope the sun is shining on you.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I was in agony again yesterday, although I kept moving as much as possible to stop it from stiffening up and hurting even more. Managed 7k steps in total I think, which I'm quite pleased with considering.
However my eating was terrible again! I think I have some sort of psychological problem, where when I decide I'm not going to eat junk and processed rubbish my brain decides to crave it all the more and turn off my willpower button. I need to think of some kind of sneaky way of short circuiting my brain :rotfl:
I'm sure I'm feeling worse because of this rubbish in my system as well. I need to start eating much more cleanly. I've just looked in my fridge and the only vegetables in there are carrots  although I do have some onions as well. That's terrible, I must do a better shop for next week.
The sun is shining here, so hopefully that will help drag me out of this funk. I really want to be wearing a size 10 dress for the christmas party season this year, or even better an 8 as I'm such a short !!!!!! Maybe I need to make something I can pin somewhere I can regularly see it to help keep the motivation up. Does anyone have anything they can share around this to help me??? I'm floundering at the moment0 -
Morning all
Eyebright I seem to be having the same problem, I am craving everything and have no willpower, grrr. I am hoping that going back to work tomorrow and getting into a busy routine will help.
I have also done no exercise as I feel really lethargic and grumpy, due to going back to work. I have decided that until I go back to work tomorrow I am not going to stress about it. Today is the last day of my holidays and I need to give myself a bit of a break sometimes.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Oh Eyebright - your poor back! Do hope it improves.
I have a pair of 'hopeful' jeans hanging on my wardrobe door, that I try on periodically. I can get them on, but hardly move in them!
Re eating well: I make soups with about 6 veggies in them, and pop in in portions in the fridge or freezer. I also make coleslaw (carrot, cabbage, onion + mayo/olive oil and acv). So if I eat them both, I've already hit 9 veggies!
With the soups, I also add in a hefty dose of ham, or 2 hb eggs, for the protein.
My go-to bfast is 100g cottage cheese + cinnamon + 15-20g ground almonds + 2 scrambled eggs. Why not find a good bfast you love - or 2 - and eat well to start the day.
Maybe set yourself some postponement - ie you can eat whatever you like once you've had lunch. Or tea. Or plan a treat every evening, so that you are able to hold out for it?
dolly - hope the kit fits. I have the other problem - am short and stumpy! I've got my back out of hibernation, and am planning to cycle to work 1 day per week...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I have done a workout! :j cheekily sneaking one in for September!
12x10/50: pike press, pike jump and jump up; sandbag (25lbs) fore and back lunge-left; right. I got well sweaty! It was such a good feeling to actually workout again. But I'm starting to feel it now, despite stretching and cooling down. Must be my age.
I've also eaten quite well, still no sugar, so that is day 9 now. Think I'll do 10 and then have a 'day off', or should that be a 'day on'?!
Tomorrow being the 1st of a new month, it is weigh and measure day.
And back to work. Boo.
Fmess, thank you once again for setting up this thread! :TNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Ta! I get the clean eating thing now.
Eyebright, I feel your annoyance at the lack of willpower. Just start each day afresh, I was told that it takes 21 dys to give up something, I never before managed 21 dys of no chocolate or biccies, now I have slowly lost 10lb now! Which is my best achieve ment ever.
Dont think as far as xmas, set a target for , say , 4 weeks, then again onwards.0 -
Morning all.
Tis the dreaded weigh-in day for me, I already know i've put on again which means i've gotta pay this weekI just can't seem to balance my weight im back to 136LB with my target at 133LB, at cardio fitness only my weight usually always balanced out at 130LB so not sure if it my food intake or just the amount of weight training that I do that making the last few pounds stick as this is the first time i've had strength training in my exercise regime.
Food today
Banana & coffee
salad box and fruit
Moroccan veg stew (cara's all recipes version)
Have a great day everyone0 -
Hi guys.
I did my run yesterday and added in an extra hill, the second hill defeated me near the top and I had to walk the last few yards, it wasn't as steep as the first but the two combined was hard work.
Today is cycling after tea, diet not too good today, I have taken the kids out for the last day of the school holidays and we have shared a bag of chips - who cares - they were really nice. Tomorrow normal service will resume and I am hoping to drop a good few pounds in September.
B/Fast - Just Right, soya milk, slice of cinnamon raisin toast with flora.
Lunch - 1/3 bag of chips, cereal bar, jam sandwich, coffee
Tea - Piri Piri chicken tray bake, yoghurt.
Last night I had a mug of Options (I think) Indulgence hot chocolate in Cherry Chocolate Brownie, 60 calories and it was really nice, may be a good idea for people needing a low calorie, sweet fix.
Good luck tori when you get weighed.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
