Day 5 of no sugar is complete! Different temptations, but ensuring that I have enough 'good' food around, plus a couple of alternative ideas, means that resisting is do-able.
Also got over 10k steps done, for once. Haven't done that too often this month, compared with July. September - that mythical time when all will be well, all will go well and weight will magically disappear - is approaching so I 'hope to do better'! The plan is in place, I may even do some meal planning...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Day four with no sugar... I am thinking about setting up some money reward system for myself for all those days without sweets, nothing motivates more than money at the moment!!
I put £1 in a pot for every NSD, 10 veg, 10k steps, workout and/or no sugar day. I keep a notebook for all my spends, so it just goes innthere and every few days I pop the cash in the pot. I think I got up to about £70 in July! Will definitely be doing this again in September.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening all
Much more successful day today, although still beating myself up as it could be much better.
Food was...
Breakfast - toast and yoghurt
Lunch - chorizo salad
Dinner - chicken and mushrooms, prawn crackers
Snacks - chocolate buttons, bread and butter, handful of Doritos
I also did 35 minutes at the gym and walked the dogs for 40 minutes. Think my poor diet and lack of exercise for the last two weeks has affected my body. I managed less than 5 minutes of running on the treadmill today, 2 weeks ago I could to 40+ minutes. Need to get back to it, I hate feeling unfit again.
Tomorrow is a bodycombat class and then intend to swim or do a bit more in the gym.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

My total loss is 9lb, I aim to lose another 3 in 3 weeks. Very slow but steady.0 -
That's fantastic Aggy
Glad you've had a better day Fmess, well done to all those braving it without the white stuff, I've switched to coconut sugar that will have to do for me, I need me treats to keep me sane.
Anybody have any good recipes for spinach & kale? downside of losing weight and being 40 means skin feels a bit saggish so trying to increase collagen friendly foods a bit vain I knowbut gotta be worth a try before I resort to sellotaping up my bingo wings :rotfl:

Morning all
My scales are crazy. Yesterday I weighed 10st 3lbs, today I've just been on 4 times to readings of 10 st 4, 9 st 1 (this is not a mistype!), 10st 0 and 10 st 2. I think 10st 2 is the most likely to be accurate.
I'm off to body combat in a bit and going to make myself either swim or do some cycling on the gym floor too, maybe all 3! Then some dog walking later.
Food today should be:-
Breakfast - either eggy bread or chucky eggs and soldiers
Lunch - whatever I can find in the fridge
Dinner - lasagne and veg
I have no idea what you do with kale I'm afraid tori but I didn't know it was collagen enhancing!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

I only register 9st1 on the scales when I 'accidentally' find I'm holding up half my bodyweight on the edge of the sink!!
Day 6 of no sugar has started well. My tummy has shrunk a lot and it's so motivating to see such fast results. A huge breakfast and late morning snack - protein-heavy of course - go a long way in keeping me full, full, full!
We will be travelling home this afternoon. The m25 is soooo fickle there is no 'ideal time' to join it. The return from N Devon now means that I can find my way home if I need to get off 3 junctions early. But that still means I need to cover 7 junctions on the dratted road. And we'll need food for up to 5 hours...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I can eat quite a lot of spinach and kale in a smoothie. 1 apple & 1 banana + spinach/kale. Using a hand blender which takes one minute to wash and not too much water in a smoothie so eating doesn't take too long.
Good job for not eating sugar apple muncher! You're way ahead of me!
I have failed my promise today and had lots of comfort food. But ladies, I don't feel guilty - it's that time of the month for me and today I had such a strong pain all day and still had to work, I just had to please/distract myself somehow... Once I feel better, I'll start my sugar free journey again.
Please don't judge me, chocolate is my only friend in moments like this as I don't have a boyfriend0 -
Hi blue_mango - don't go beating yourself up now, will you?? You've done so well to get this far without sugar - and you'll get there again.
I've managed day 6 of no sugar - and am actually really looking forward to weighing myself tomorrow! (been at mum's for 2 nights, so no scales). I've not done a 6-day stretch before, so am feeling quite proud of meself!
No workouts have even been attempted since August 13th! Shame on me for that! I hope to take dd swimming tomorrow, but all that that will entail for me is bobbing around in the baby pool!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening all
apple muncher my scales have never read 9st 1lb before (not these ones anyway) I have no idea where they got that number from. Wish it was true, I'd only be 1lb off my target! Don't beat yourself up about not exercising over the summer, I have been all over the place with food and exercise, I hate to say it but I need to get back to school and get in my routine. Plus being on my feet all day helps burn the calories and distract me from eating
blue mango don't worry about a chocolate blip. I have decided that I am better off having a little chocolate most/everyday and that helps reduce a binge. Today I had a flake and it was lovely, plus the thought of having a freddo or something tomorrow, means I didn't go buy more chocolate this afternoon.
Today has been mainly good, although I have just had a two mini muffins. I did however cycle for 10 minutes before my body combat class, then swam for 20 minutes and walked one set of dogs this afternoon.
I have also ate lots of fruit and veg, which is a nice change (banana, onion, pepper, mushrooms, cucumber, salad leaves) It doesn't sound much, but I had two huge salads
Well done everyone, you all keep me going everyday. Knowing I have you all on here for support, really makes a difference to meThank you
