I do what I call Insanity Plus, which consists of the Insanity Workout with Shaun T (in week 5, day 4, recovery week), 1/2 mile swim, lift weights at gym and a 10k run. All this takes me around 3-4 hours every day 6 days a week. Sunday is a long run. Needless to say I am getting in some serious shape. My goal: a sub 40 minute 10k. I am 58 years old and think I am in better shape now than when I was 28, and wasn't doing too bad then!
Anyway, I want to encourage everyone here to keep at it! There is absolutely no goal in life more noble or worthwhile than great health and great physical condition. All the money in the world won't compensate for poor physical health.0 -

Morning all
Sorry for my absence this week. I've been back to work and it has hit me hard. Was in a horrible mood at the start of the week and now have a cold and suspected chest infection. Needless to say no exercise, apart from dog walking and the food has slipped to being very carb heavy. I'm planning on waiting until I'm better before tackling the diet again so fingers crossed I recover in the next day or two.
Well done on all the exercise, you're all doing fantastic!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Today I'm having a day off exercise - yay! So today's aim is to have 10 veggies and keep sugar-free. And maybe do 10k steps too!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hi
I hope you have room for a hopeless dieter, with 'this time I'm going to do it' stuck on a loop but who is actually getting quite worried.
Going down town today and seeing larger people having problems with their mobility, using walking sticks etc, has bought it home to me that I'm putting serious pressure on my aging body (50). As well as any other obesity related diseases I've realised that wear and tear will take it's toll and it's not necessary - I can avoid it - or at least delay it.
So I'll weigh myself on Monday and update my sig. I'd like to lose at least 1 stone by Christmas but it's 4 1/2 I need to lose all together.
I'm going to do my planning over the next couple of days and read the thread for inspiration and hopefully I can start to make some progress.
Best wishes to all.
