Thanks WantToBeSE, the nice thing is that it didn't feel that bad on the last lap, and I still had enough energy left to do a full sprint to the line (its petty I know but I didn't want the person that caught me up to overtake)

Nice gentle 10 mile run today. Its hot out there again today! But managed to keep my heart rate average in the low 140's despite 1000 feet of hills in it.

Desperate to get some longer, hillier runs in before I race 15k on the 1st October.
There's nothing gentle about a 10 mile run!

There is if you go slowly. It was a good minute and a half slower per mile than I would run that in a race.
I'm just trying to get in some nice runs to make up some distance as I had been running injured since june. So nice to do some miles pain free. Although knowing me I will probably injure myself next weekend a week before I need to race properly. :rotfl:

Did my 2nd ParkRun on Saturday and was 2 minutes quicker without the dodgy pacer! 34:24 vs the week before's 37:04. I went out a bit 'fast' as my splits got slower but I can work on that. I managed to run all the way again which is great for me. Sadly I was desperate for a pee from about the halfway point - so something else I can do better with!!!
I am going to try and keep doing PR as OH can handle getting DD up and out to Stagecoach and gets back just after me, then we both go and walk the dogs after I shower.

Well done with the PB. I've been running nearly a year and I still can't manage to hold myself back from running to fast a first lap.

Once you go to the same PR a few times you can see which people run about your speed and which run the speed you want to run. Track them ;)

Legs are feeling stiff today! First time in a while for that feeling. I really pushed hard doing intervals last night.

I went to 3rd session of running club last night and I ache today! It is not the legs so much - they just get heavy at the time and cease to move very quickly but don't ache so much the next day - it is the ribs from doing planks in between the running bits.

Sounds like a cracking session. I can't make our clubs circuits session :( but I will be making the club run tonight. It is one that I try and make each week as they generally go out slowly and then wind the pace up over the course of the 7 miles or so. Starts of around 8:30 min miles and before the sprint finish you are down to around 6:30.
If only i could run negative splits in races now :rotfl:

I had never done a plank before I started this program - they are hard. As are the burpees, I don't seem to struggle so much with squats but maybe that is because I don't go low enough.

I did the "Insanity" DVD's last year. I could do most of it but anything like Burpees where you have to stand then go down left me knackered. But squats etc where fine. It was the act of having to stand up that left me dying.
Planks are hard, although I suspect very useful (I haven't actually done one since insanity) as after some of my longer runs in the fells my core stomach muscles end up quite sore.

Damn you parkrun! Just a handful of seconds away from my target of sub 20. 3rd PB in a row though so not all bad.
