    A lot of people then!
One of the other ones local to me has about 400 that's why I have never done that one :rotfl:

Well that's my entry for a boxing day 10k sent off!! I must be mad!!

I'm eyeing up the scafell pike marathon too ... not sure if that would be biting off a bit much as I have only ever run a half marathon nevermind up a mountain.

I walked Scarfell pike in the summer. We chose a less touristy route so it came in at 16 miles when I think you can do as little as 6 miles straight up and down. It was pretty rough under foot in places with a few bits you had to climb/scramble. Sadly the actually peak is like Blackpool (apologies to anyone who likes Blackpool but it is not for me) - really busy, loads of people eating packed lunches, surrounded by wasps, and dropping litter. There were some fantastic places and views on the way up and down (chose a circular route) but the top was meh!

I've walked up the way the marathon goes (Corridor Route) a couple of times. I normally go up from seathwaite up to styhead tarn then the corridor route and back down via great end, ruddy gill/grains gill. Lovely wander and only about 9 miles in total. On that route I only remember one bit where you had to scramble down.
Once you hit the path from wasdale near the top it does get busy though. Personally I've not really seen many people there as all of the times I have been up there visibility has been about 2 meters :rotfl:

I am going to have to go up again just to see what it looks like.

We came down the corridor route having parked at Seathwaite. We were supposed to be going up that way too but missed a turn on the way from Sty Head and ended up passing by Sprinkling Tarn and coming in round the back of Great End. We did it in August - the top was full of kids in crocs and wellies and other inappropriate footwear :(
Whilst it was a tick in the box for the kids we all (2 families) preferred the walk we had done earlier in the week from Easdale Tarn over to Stickle Tarn. Sadly the visibility wasn't good enough to go up to the top of the Langdale Pikes from there so we settled for a nice cold pint in the pub at the bottom :)

    it was a bit OT!

I have treated myself to some new running tights today ready for tomorrow's PR. My others were falling down all the time so I had been wearing some old M&S cycling shorts which weren't that comfortable. The new tights have a drawstring which is good for me as I have a small waist but a large 'behind',and there are lots of pockets for keys/phone/parkrun barcode. I have an armband for the phone but it is either too tight round my bicep or it is too loose and the phone slips down to rest in the crook of my elbow and annoy me! I am not sure whether I will trust the pockets or not yet though as I don't want to drop the phone and have it trampled on.

    Morning all.
I managed a PB at ParkRun on Saturday so the 3 ParkRuns I have done in the last 5 years / aka last 3 weeks have been 37:04, 34:16, 33:14. I set my goal for the 6 week program as 33 mins but there are still nearly 4 weeks left so I have reset to 32 mins.

Another PB on Saturday - 32:45 :) It was really heavy rain till about 5 mins before the start, then it almost stopped for the duration, before the torrents came back while I was on my way back to the car. Perfect.

Whilst cutting all the labels out of my new running tights I discovered that they were mens! It does explain why they were so lovely and long on me (34" inside leg)

    Good afternoon all.
I've just got back from a weekend in the lake district. 15k trail race on Sat in 1hr 13mins. Then a nice gentle recovery run on sunday up to the top of coniston old man and dow crag. :)

Also have ordered myself some nice shoes (hang the expense) Inov8 x-tallons 275's.

Well done on the PB MallyGirl.
