Today is a nice but hilly route and I'm geared up ready to go :j

Happy park runs to anyone that's doing them. I will do one some day.....

    Enjoy your hills :)

I did a 10k trail race last night through the mud. It was tough but good fun. Although parkrun this morning was tough splashing through the mud and puddles, managed the first mile and then the tiredness kicked in from yest.

  • Im fed up of running! I did 5.6 miles yesterday in 1 hour (so not particulaly quick) I can hardly walk today as my ankles are killing me. I'm thinking whats the point? If I injure myself and can't work I will be in trouble financially. I'm concious of the fact I'm in my forties so need to keep trim and fit to help stave off ill health so I'm going to concentrate on diet and weights and walking. I think running can be more trouble than its worth.

I have hung up my trainers.

How much do you run? If you build up to it then it shouldn't hurt. In my case walking leads me to have knee pain whereas running is fine.

Good shoes and good technique the you should be fine running if you can walk.

and I need to restart - I took a week off for half term holiday, and then it was too hot and humid, and then some other excuse popped up. I am going to try and get out tonight otherwise the excuses will just keep coming :(

  • Can I join, I started doing the NHS C25K programme and start my final week tomorrow which is 3 days of 30 minute runs with a rest day between each run. When I started this 9 weeks ago I struggled to run for 60 seconds.
Nothing to see here, move along.

    Welcome @Coveredinbees!!!! (Love the username)
Congrats on completing the full programme. It's amazing how quick the fitness comes up once you start isn't it.

I am just about to start winding down now for a half marathon next Sunday.
So bit of a blast at parkrun tomorrow, a gentle run Sunday, speed training Monday and prob a gentle 5k Tues then nothing till I go and see if the body is capable of racing 13 miles!

It's been very wet here. I'm just doing half an hour twice a week to ease my injuries back into action......got a PR for one mile today:)
  • Just catching up with the posts.

Welcome coveredinbees, I restarted my running using the c25k app and that first half an hour run felt great :)

Indesisiv how are you feeling about your race next week? Hope the park run went okay today.

Well done on your PB today tiredtrophy :T did you make it out mallygirl?

I've had a struggle this week, been zapped of energy, managed two shorter runs and hopefully will be able to do a longer one tomorrow.

I'm actually quite nervous, its not a flat course and I haven't run that far in anger before so have no idea how hard to push and still go ok. I'm thinking go hard and hang on lol.

Parkrun was a bit naff to be honest, I wanted to go out and push hard for a PB but ended up 30secs short!! It seemed like I was running faster than 21:01 but clearly not. I just found it hard work today :(
Easy run tomorrow, just need to decide how far to go.
I have Ullswater booked for the 1st July as a present for finishing the half marathon, so just need to pull my finger out and get it done now.

@sunshine&showers: If you have no energy just run a bit slower and hopefully your body will sort it out during the run.
