So glad it went well Claire.
Thanks for the 'report' on how it went, hope mine goes so well. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
Really pleased that it all went well for you.:T :T :T
Hope you can look forward to an early discharge now.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Thanks for all the lovely messages!
Woke up today with a really bad head. Think I must have had one (or a few!) to many last night
Feeling really good today though despite the raging head. When I got up I went shopping as usual on a Saturday. It was so weird to pay with cash instead of a card. Normally I don't even think about what my shopping costs because I know I can just "stick it on the debit card". Today I took £30 and had to roughly add up what my shopping came to to make sure I had enough. I found myself putting things back that I didn't need to make sure I had enough to pay for the things I really did need, so its all good!
Other than that not much to report today. Think I'll go and crawl back into bed for a bit, my poor head still hurtsSometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
CLR its very odd paying by cash but oh so nice when you stop to think now do I NEED that and put it back. You give yourself a little pat on the back as you are in controle:j
Well done 1st step over your on the road to freedom:T
Hope the head gets better soon;)Some of the best lessons we ever learn,we learn from our mistakes and failures.the error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future. :j0 -

Hope the head feels better soon

13 July 2007
I haven't been posting here much over the last week since the big deed last Friday. The reason for that is, I felt that for weeks and weeks pre-bankruptcy it's all I thought about. I was eating, sleeping and breathing bankruptcy so I felt I needed to not look/post here to much for a while to give myself a break!
Yesterday I had some bad(ish) news. My Co-Op bank account is not going to be ready for my salary to be paid into at the end of the month. I don't get paid until 26 July but I was told that the last date for changing bank details is 16 July, which is Monday. I spoke to the bank yesterday and they told me that there is currently a 2 weeks backlog for applications to be processed. I begged and pleaded with the manager to do something, but he said he couldnt. Eventually he gave me the sort code and account number that has been allocated to my account but said that any payments made before the account had been approved would just bounce straight back. With that in mind I took the details to my payroll department, who said that the BACS gets sent on Wednesday 18 July! I didn't realise it was so far in advance! Anyway they have agreed to write me a cheque for this month whcih I can collect on the 26 July. I'm assuming then that this will take until 2 August to clear, by which time my bills will be due so I think I might have made it by the skin of my teeth! Assuming that there aren't any other problems with opening the account, god I hope not.
It's been a week now since I was declared bankrupt. I still haven't heard anything from the OR apart from at the court on the day. No letter, no phonecalls, no email, nothing. This seems a little strange to me as the lady I spoke to on the day on the phone said she would be sending me a letter within a week to say whether I needed to a phone interview or come into the office. I might see if anything turns up over the weekend and if not give them a call on Monday. All this waiting round and uncertainty (I need to know about my car!) is still stressing me.
I'll be back a bit more regularly now I've had my break!

13 July 2007 (again)
I left work today and, as usual since Monday, went to buy the local rag.......
My name was in it under the bankruptcy section
I was quite shocked to see it to be honest. I think I'd convinced myself that it wouldn't be in there at all, but there is was in black and white.
It was quite comical really, I stood in the shop wondering what to do, (like I could do anything), then I became very aware that I had my ID badge on from work still, with my name on it, so I took it off and put it in my bag in case anyone had seen my name in the paperThere was only a couple of people in the shop, none of whom know me, I don't know what made me do it!
So I'm expecting a few comments at work on Monday. The people who I work with know anyway and they ve been great, but I work in a hospital and I know if certain people have spotted it I'll be the topic of conversation Monday. I'm also worried about my more-distant family seeing it, like my aunts/uncles etc, not because they ll say anything bad but because they ll worry about lil old me.
It had to happen on good old Friday 13th didn't it!!!!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0
