Yahooooo!! It's over and I'm still alive!! LOL!

Well I got to court about 9am, appointment was at 915am. At EXACTLY 915am the clerk came out and took me into a small room where he looked at my paperwork, I had to fill in a couple of things that I'd missed off (Oops!) but nothing major. He then asked me if I wanted to swear on the bible or gave me the option of reading out a different statement if I was a non-believer, I opted for the bible, did that, he took my money and then asked me to wait whilst he fetched my receipt.

THEN, he took me straight to the other waiting room to go and see the judge. I thought I was going to be ages (it was only 940 at this point) so I sat down and started eyeing the magazines. Before I even had chance to pick one up, my name was called to go and see the judge! The usher took me in and asked me to address him as sir, so in I went. I was expecting there to be other people in the room (not sure why?!) but it was just me and the judge, he said to me, you wish to be declared bankrupt is this correct? I said it was and he asked if I had taken any advice, so I told him I had contacted CCCS and national debtline. He leafed through the papers as I was telling him this and then said "well, I don't think you have any other way out of this, so I am going to sign the papers for you"!!! So I was declared bankrupt at 945am today!!

The I had to take the file back to the first waiting room, went for a quick ciggie and some fresh air and as soon as I came back I was told to go back to the first small room where the clerk contacted the OR office. The lady there went through my personal details, told me to open up another bank account (and ring her with the details when I had them) and told me that there next stage would be either an office interview, a telephone one OR POSSIBLY NO INTERVIEW AT ALL (fingers crossed!). She said that they would look at my paperwork today and send a letter to me to let me know, provisionally she has booked me a telephone interview on 27 July at 2pm, and the letter will either confirm this or let me know if they're going to get me to go to the office or not have interview at all!!

After that I went back to the clerk, at 1015am, and she told me I was free to leave!! YIPPPPEEEEE!!!

Went straight to Co-Op to open my bank account and it was referred so they have said they will write to me to let me know the outcome, I will ring them on Wednesday if I havn't heard anything as I need an account to have my salary paid into at the end of the month.

This morning when I got up I felt awful, there were butterflies, nay, sorry, something much bigger than butterflies in my tummy, I felt so sick and stressed. Driving to court I saw people waiting at the bus stop on their way to work and I kept looking, wishing that was me going to work and having a normal day.

Now I feel like a different person. It's like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders, and I know I've still got a long way to go but I feel so much better already. I can't believe how quick it was. Before I went I felt like a criminal and felt like I was going to be interrogated or something, and it's just not like that (or wasn't in my case). The judge was stern but polite, didn't really say to much but I was thankful for that to be honest.

I'm now sitting with a humungous glass of wine (which I think I deserve, even at this time of day!) and shall be going out tonight to let my hair down a little (or a lot!).

Thanks for all your messages yesterday and today, it's nice to know people are thinking of me!

And I will post again here very soon.......WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!!!
