Ah that's sad. I have lived in the USA and the UK (mostly the latter). Being english, I had no shortage of US girlfriends, They seemed to like me, and I also liked their direct, no nonsense qualities. As they say 'opposites attract' but I think there's more to it than that.

You will find a few bigoted people in the UK who don't like Americans. I guess the same applies in reverse. However you will find thousands more you will get on with, so don't give up!
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.

I asked him on a date at lunch today and he agreed on the condition it was only as friends because he is not going to be in the USA long enough to establish a solid relationship and wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings when the time came to leave. This is why I love British men! An American would just be looking at it as reason to have sex.

I will now leave you all in peace, I can tell some people don't want me here :(

Thank you to all the kind people who took their time to respond to me, I value your opinions and advice. Take care and god save the queen :D

Why would an American girl look for advice about dating any guy on a money saving site ?

If you are real, good luck, but I didn't think MSE was big the USA, let alone anyone knowing it has a 'relationships" section. :)

and the fact that posts scream 'I am so innocent, poor little me' and 'you've really caused me hurties'....what sort of a grown woman responds like that?!

What is it like being so bitter and twisted and cynical?

I feel very sorry for you.

Having read all the hate towards this woman, i've set about to prove whether it is true or not. She used bing to search for advice and i expect she did a UK search only. If you type in relationships and marriage forum in bing moneysaving expert appears on the very 1st page 3rd down. If you type relationship advice, page 1 leads you to a digitalspy forum where someone even mentions this section of the forum. I spent 5 minutes searching and found this forum numerous times. You are all very cynical indeed and i believe did actually hurt this woman.

This forum is one of the biggest in the UK and will appear near the top of every search engine because of the amount of bots collating information from it.

I wouldn't waste your time trying to make the witches on the forum see sense.

They don't believe any decent posters and always call them liars (even someone who had cancer) and try to pick holes in their stories.

It happens regularly. Unfortunately, they all have such sad, boring lives that even when they think a thread is a wind up they carry on reading and posting.

They are very sick low lifes and i applaud you for standing up to them SuzieSue :T i've now gave them concrete evidence on how easy this forum appears in search engines, so lets see them call me a liar and a wind up now.

Yes, they are nasty vindictive bullies who don't care about hurting anyone's feelings.

Just read where I said 'If you are real, good luck".

And I don't think anyone has been nasty, just dubious.

No, I didn't mean you, I meant the other posters who turned a fun thread sour and upset the OP, although I didn't agree with you calling the OP a bored student.

eh?where have I done that? I have NEVER mocked anyone with cancer and you can consider yourself a bully for even stating such a thing. You have no idea about my experiences so how can you call me a witch as well? all because I don't believe a thread? perhaps you should open your eyes to the real world where people do REALLY nasty stuff every day- not just disagree with someone on a flippin forum!

and I can assure you that I have a very full life and am not bored,in fact, far from it!I just do not believe the op- if this is all genuine, then fair play I wish her well. Just seems a bit too sugar coated and fantastic to be real imo

Nothing like overreacting,eh?bitter, twisted and cynical?I again refer you to the definition of these terms:
    Bitter:
feeling or showing anger, hurt, or resentment because of bad experiences or a sense of unjust treatment.

you obviously know me so well and know bout all of my experiences for u to turn mini-psych and call me bitter.

    Twisted:
(of a personality or a way of thinking) unpleasantly or unhealthily abnormal; warped.

errm, nope, I am of sound mind thankyou very much. Considering your opinion of my posts and the vile anguage you have used in comparison to mine, I would say that it is YOU who are the bully, not me.
