Keep telling your OH that just because he is unhappy doesn't mean he can take it out on you.

It sounds like he is in a lot of pain, but that doesn't mean you should take the worst of it. I suggest cat cuddles.

I would love cat cuddles unfortunately in a fit of spite he has arranged for him to be rehomed.

oh dear - I think he will come to regret that melly - it will hit him that he is not keeping his promise to mil.
personally, I would retaliate by piling all the furniture into the street! but that would be childish wouldn't it?
