Melly -Don't know about you but I can hold a grudge - but I can also bide my time.
As for clothes to keep you may find things like dressing gowns and jumpers better.
Ras - I don't think the vultures are/were circling......it's more like they've landed!0 -
Two different flavours of dreamies, wet food in meaty varieties a fishing rod feather toy and some dry food purchased.
Going over to play, feed and generally spoil him in an hour.0 -

Not even got a death certificate yet, she would be so upset.
Maybe, melly, maybe not. She was dam well aware of how mercenary they are before she died - hence the remark about selling her jewellery before she had even died.
why are you 'Storing' her furniture? why not just turn it over to house clearance company? Sell it if it has any value? or make a huge bonfire with it? (would be highly tempted to do the last).
If OH is not included in the funeral arrangements why do they expect him to do the hard work of physically clearing the house? aren't there two strapping nephews?
I know your OH would not do this - but, really he should walk away now. before they can pile on more pain and humiliation. just go to the funeral. then you and he bu99er off away from them. Taking the dogs and cat of course!0 -
Thanks gettingtheresometime.
Hubby took the dressing gown for him (the smell)
Mr T Cat is loving the hide box OH made him so he feels safer in my MIL'S going to bring that and some other smells like home stuff to help settle him here.
I can hold a grudge forever but you have to push me to get me to this state I tend not to care much about whether people like or approve and because I have no need for stuff don't get riled easy.
There will be retribution0 -
He's doing it for his mum Meri.
She got them to promise on her deathbed following OH conversation with her that got her home that I would be able to choose some jewellery, I think she knew it wouldn't happen hence giving me the bracelet....0 -
Knowing my OH he will want some of the furniture so this way it gets to be safe until he's able to make a decision.
Once we have eaten it's back round for Mr T Cat feed and love then we are going to try and sleep.
Both exhausted and need to do a big push on sorting some of our stuff out to clear space for Mr T Cat0 -
Oh sorry Melly - I didn't realise it had been discussed between OH and MIL. then DONT bonfire it! of course it will take a bit of time before he feels able to sort through it and keep the right items.
I shouldn't worry about sorting space for the cat - cat will LOVE all the familiar furniture around, and give him some 'hiding spaces' - which nearly all cats like to do when rehomed.0 -
Might try and post pic later
I just want somewhere dogglet free as porky princess adores cats and thinks (like everything really) that they exist to play with her, Mr T Cat has never (as far as we know) lived with a dog never mind two boisterous jacks lol.
He's requested a meeting with the witches so I may need soothing later.0 -
melly - I think people get a bit 'tied up in knots' about cats and dogs. I will ask my son Atrix to come and advise - he knows more about it than I do. although I have never had a problem with rehoming cats and dogs with the other breed already in residence.
ok - eat lots of garlic before meeting and carry plenty of amulets! a wooden stake may be taking it a bit far - but you never know!
see you later then melly.0 -
Mr T Cat likes feather fishing rod toys LOTS.
He had a huge cuddle including blink kisses and nose bumps with much purring. He appears to be my cat0
