Aah, Dreamies. They're like crack for cats! One of ours can be asleep upstairs, yet just move the Dreamies bag and he's down like a shot!

OH has always fed a few in a sneaky manner to him when he went round, so we are associated with both cuddles and dreamies.

OH is having a mini melt down, he is not happy about the furniture everywhere so he is now saying that he isnt going to have the cat.

When evil cat was fading we kept her going for a few extra months by feeding her dreamies and leaving fish fingers on a plate near enough for her to steal. She didn't have the strength left for her usual robbery with violence so we sort of made theft easy for her.

Dreamies are utterly crack for cats. The advert shows cats running through walls for them. Evil cat could manage a sort of purposeful amble.

When psychotic cat passed evil cat got incredibly depressed and we found the best thing to keep her happy was a feather on a bouncy stick thingy - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAT-KITTEN-FEATHER-TEASER-ROD-WAND-FLEXIBLE-FUN-TOY-LONG-50CM-/281347690671?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4181a110af

If OH feels he is losing control then lashing out at you and the furniture is a way of trying to claw stuff back. It isn't helpful, but is human.

Can you find something small to divert him on to? I don't know, maybe a reading or music for the funeral if you think SIL/evil aunt will allow it?

    Sending more hugs.

need to find something, was expecting a melt down a bit earlier so hes done well.

Cant sort the funeral out till SIL has got the death certificates, dont know how long that takes.
Hes angry which means its heading this way. We said I cant sort anything out as your not here and the dogs are following me round, so we are not having the cat.

    What he means is
I am upset, my mums furniture everywhere is upsetting me, and the dogs have picked this up and are trying to make me feel better, I wish you werent at work, I miss my mum

Rose cuttings? Take LOTS, use the rooting powder (pound shops may still have it) but try to leave enough of the plant if it doesn't work this time. (Glorious idea, by the way. Loving & generous & thoughtful.)

Keep all animals away from hopefully-rooting plants.

*Huge* hugs in this tough time.

Thanks Dig, I have looked at a rooting gel that gets good reviews and a mist spray thing. I have to keep it in a plastic tent or something.

I am going to decimate the main plant I think with the cuttings from new wood, do you recommend hitting the end of the stem to crush or slitting it?

Me, I slice at a 45 degree angle, dunk in the powder & tuck into a pot of rooting compost with the hole "pre-drilled" with a pencil. From a healthy stalk I can get maybe 3 or four cuttings (& I cut the stalk straight across from the plant).
This intrigued me: as a novel use of spuds if nothing else
All the best with the cuttings!

Dreamies - the cat equivalent of CHOCOLATE! my Barnes loves his dreamies - and 'treatsticks'. I used to buy the Webox ones - but Aldees are cheaper and you get more sticks - and Barnes loves them too! I buy the Aldee version of dreamies too - bigger and more per pack for the money. being bigger it helps Barnes catch them!

What are you going to with her furniture melly? you and OH need to agree on its 'disposal'. because its obviously bothering you both. you going to ask the family what they want from it? sell it? give it to charity?

Cant help with the cuttings melly - my dad never had any luck with rose cuttings - except those from the rambling rose, and that would root easily as others have advised.
