She is scared of Aunty then? can you arrange night time care from a charity such as Marie Curie? we did this with MIL. family care from 8am to midnight. then they took over. and the nurses were lovely. they would watch tv with her, chat, let her sleep when she could, she loved them!

I dont know whether shes scared, or if its that OH is the only one she trusts but she wants him with her.
I got up at 5 walked dogs, got ready for work, made smoothies, got round to MILs at 7, gave OH smoothie and cuppa, gently washed MIL and made sure she was comfy, OH dropped me into work.
MIL is ok so OH is having a couple of hours kip then will be back there this aft, I will go straight after work.

Just feeding him popping his back in then round to MIL to coax something down her, they will take her back if she doesn't get something down her.

can they not prescribe the 'Nutrient Drinks' for her? my mum had them when she was getting over pneumonia but was unable/unwilling to take solid food.
I believe they were called 'Fortisip' and come in a wide range of flavours. The bottles are really small - so the patient isn't overwhelmed or feel they have to force down copious amounts.

She's got em. Problem is its stomach cancer she is terrified of throwing up and associates all fluid and food with throwing up the nurse tried to get her to have one or some ice cream earlier, she's not having any of it lol.

She said she'd try one of my smoothies tho (am sticking some complan in it)

OH back time, smoothie making dog walking then back.

I used to sneak a nutrient drink into smoothies. soups, milk shakes etc.

DH can eat now but still fighting to get calories into him.

hmmm - mum liked the 'Fortisip' Juice type, in a glass with loads of ice - I used to ask her if she wanted a little umbrella to go with the straw!lol. called them her 'cocktails'. she wouldn't touch the yoghurt type ones.
so I 'hid' those too in her nightime hot chocolate!

Could you put the nutrient drinks into a custard or some sort of pudding?

melly? hasn't anyone prescribed any anti- nausea tablets? when FIL was being sick a lot the Nurse Practitioner told us to get him travel sickness tablets. I am sure that the NHS must have similar to prescribe.
the fear of throwing up may be overcome if she thinks that she has pills to combat it.

Im in the garden having a breather as aunt is !!!!ing me off.
Their giving her anti emetics think the problem is that her stomach just doesn't work its basically no longer able to contract due to the wall and lining just being cancerous tissue.

I remembered froobs from my dad them and ice lollys so have tried I'm not sure why the nurse was trying to get her to eat when she can't digest as I'm not in work tomorrow going to see if a drip at home is possible.

She's tried some smoothie was really enjoying it then threw it up (aunt started about my making her sick that's why break before I lose it and punch her)

Think OH will be here again tonight as she's already started with the not going to leave me are you sons
