I do make sure he knows his behaviour is unacceptable it just escalating due to how he's currently feeling. I need to keep calm till I can get him into the psychologist who will be a person removed from the situation who will hopefully help him understand why he's doing things.

When my MIL was diagnosed as being terminally ill, the local HospiceCare team got in touch with us to see how we were getting on. They offered us counselling if we felt we or our children needed it and were always at the end of the phone.

I wonder if there is something similar to you that you could access for your OH. Our team included me in the discussions, even though MIL and I did not have a great relationship, so you may get some practical advice there. HTH x
  • I think that this situation is horribly toxic and until you get support, its always going to remain so. I have a relative who died from cancer and believe me we went through tough times as a family but nothing like this.

You have to set some boundaries as to where people cannot cross. As for your OH, he cannot abuse you just because he is hurting.

I have read some of your posts elsewhere and they've really concerned me, to do with your health.

I also think you would be much better starting a diary thread on here than bumping up an old thread because people would be more inclined to follow a diary one than one that's bumped every so often.

Hi purpleshoes its interesting how other people can see things i don't see my OH as abusing me, I see that he is in physical and emotional pain the psychologist should help him process it properly. They helped some what with his tendance to overdo stuff and cripple himself.

This thread is useful for me as it has it all together and gives me an outlet so I can keep sane.

In other news SIL doesn't want me to come with her to the consultants lol I have told her she owes me a grand for Christmas and to keep out of my way. She is aware she's on notice

As part of my CPD I have also organised my provisional licence. Today I have been using a couple of Aps to practice the theory bit. The human brain is amazing I have taken in more road sign info than I thought.
