MIL been in and out of hospital. She has told SIL and Aunt off so OH has had some updates.

He managed to get her on her own today which has helped a bit.

Turns out she hasn't done a will so it explains some of the behaviour a bit.

Managed to get OH in with psychologist in 2.5 weeks so that's good.
  • That is really good news about support for your OH - he will need it!

I wonder how MIL will play things as she knows she can rely on your OH but not your SIL? I also wonder if the will would be held over everyone's heads until the last minute? Your poor OH, he will be framed as heartless if he doesn't dance to their tune and money grabbing if he does.

    Sending big hugs

I'm going to go with him.. He asked and I think the support will be helpful for him.

Him mum asked him what he wanted and he told her that he hadn't thought about it.

It explains to me why they want to keep him out if the house it will stripped.

Oh he managed to get her by herself because auntie had gone out when he got there. He should have raised the key issue but didn't.

I had a full and frank discussion with SIL in front of everyone have told her as she wants us to take niece she will have no objection to my coming to her next consultation.........

Today OH has been a horrible piece of work finding biting my tongue difficult.
Hopefully the psychologist appointment will help him before I kill him me and the dogs 8n the living room door closed watching the walking dead.
  • I don't know if this would help, and you know your situation best, but do you think your OH would respond well if you said calmly, 'I know you are having a bad time, and I know your family are not treating you fairly, but that does not mean that you are allowed to treat me badly.'

It's sort of like kicking the cat - taking out frustrations on an easy target. It isn't that I think you want to make matters worse for him, but it may help him understand that the way your OH's family are behaving isn't good.

    Sending big hugs.

And add that the only way the two of you are going to get through this is if you work as a team - together you're stronger than each of you separately.
