yeah yeah whatever you are all like children. i spoke to my friend who is a very successful conservatory company, a big name in this part of the country. he has told me that the trading standards act requires the retailer to provide a "full list of payment methods in a recognised format at the point of sale". the petrol station did not provide this.

as for my mother i will call her what i want she is a lovely lady and did not deserve this treatment.

So your friend who is a person is also a conservatory company?

    In breeding is rife.

no the format refers to being laid out correctly. it was very scruffy, we did see the notice but as it did not appear to be genuine we took no notice.

Why would you think it wasn't genuine

Local petrol station turf wars, going round putting up notices on petrol pumps to put off the elderly and infirm.

Like gang tags. But smaller and harder to spot.

So OP, when the man said there was signs, you still said there wasnt, even though you just said you saw one and assumed it wasn't genuine!

So you said there wasn't even though you knew there was. God you're a Doyle!!

Quoting for future reference. So you did see the sign, and when told there was a sign, you said there wasn't, because you are an absolute tool.

Why, do you think someone would stick signs on petrol pumps saying "cash payments only" for a laugh ?

You really are coming across as very dim. I'd stop now if i were you.

and said they werent able to take any card at all and that there were notices on all the pumps. i told him there were not notices on the pumps so went out to check we hadn't missed something.

So you're either forgetful, lying, making it up as you go along, or trolling?

There is no such thing as the trading standards act, so my earlier comment still stands.

Even if this were true, why is an A4 sign saying the available payment method (cash) not a recognised format? You acknowledge that you saw the sign before you filled up but chose to ignore it and then went inside to start a stupid argument about the difference between a credit card and a debit card. Whilst they may be different, it is clear that neither of them fall under the definition of "cash only".

So you did see the notice and ignored it - yet you claim the petrol station was rude!!

But you forget she has a friend who is a conservatory company (sic) and he had obviously forewarned her about non genuine signs just in case
