I think it's very relevant.
If OP had wanted her children to see granny so badly she would have arranged something that everyone could do together.

Both OP & her brother have put their mum in a very awkward situation.

Op this is a very interesting topic so thank you for posting.

I only hope that this does not sour the relationship between the daughter-in law and mother-in-law in such a way that the relationship with the grandchild is compromised in any way.

My relationship with my grandchildren is very close and one I cherish dearly.

I hope you had a great day on the beach, and a fab time with your mum.

I don't think you sound selfish at all, and I don't think your brother does either-I just think you're all used to you being the only one with kids and you, your brother and your mum are all now having to get used to the changing dynamics of having another family with kids in the mix.

And, I truly hope you don't give a care what I think, as this is an internet forum and what you and your family think of each other is far far more important than a bunch of strangers implying your brother has issues with you, or your mum needs a backbone, or some of the other things implied which people have posted.
