What did you want a reply to? Your last post wasn't a question or a request as far as I can see.

Given how much support you are getting, hold you temper and think about not snapping at oneof the most prolific and knowledgeable people who give aid on the forum.

    We are a) all volunteers
We b) try to focus on those in most urgent need
We c) never encourage lies if you are referring to post 80 if it is untrue

I saw post 81 and didn't have a clue what you were asking and nearly gave the same response. We do not have to jump to respond to every poster and in my case I chose to ignore since I didn't have a clue what you were going on about. I also happened to go to the cinema and for a meal out with my partner. We do actually have lives outside this forum.

So think before you post please if you want the experts here to continue to help. And make it clear what you are asking .

  • Help please...
I moved house a year ago, and it seems that I overlooked telling the DVLA, so didn't get my car tax renewal letter or subsequent fines. (the DVLA chose not to contact me through the email and telephone contacts they had for me as the issue escalated but that's another matter!) About a year after moving I received two fines from the magistrates court of £315 each (£630!!!) I attended a fines court to explain that I hadn't received the summons and this was reduced to a total of £315. A few days before I attended the magistrates court I received a letter from Rossendales debt collectors asking for £80. I raised this with the Magistrates at the hearing who didn't seem particularly sure but advised me to let the DVLA know that the matter had been dealt with in court. I told the DVLA this through their on-line form. They replied saying that I should raise any circumstances for non payment of the £80 with Rossendales. Although I didn't see why I should need to do this, as surely its for the DVLA to call off their debt collectors, I contacted Rossendales with this information. The letters from Rossendales have continued.
Should I pay the debt collection agency as well as the Magistrates fine already paid? What action should I take?

As I said in my first post, this is the dvla scam, and one wonders where all this missing mail lands up? They have 3 separate offices in Swansea, one is the technology side of things , so mail won't go there, but the other two deals with external things so maybe check the bins there ;)
I'd also check the toilets in case it's being used as bog roll.

What with, you know, austerity measures and all ;):o

It's only a registered keeper who can sorn a vehicle and, as with the tax, it stops once the records are changed at dvla. There would have been letters sent before the debt collectors got involved, like reminder, final reminder and then warning letters.
