Rossendales/DVLA want £80 for odd debt?

As I said in my first post, this is the dvla scam, and one wonders where all this missing mail lands up? They have 3 separate offices in Swansea, one is the technology side of things , so mail won't go there, but the other two deals with external things so maybe check the bins thereWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Thank you all.
I don't know how people managed without sites like this!!!:)0 -
Just an update to say that i still haven't heard anything from DVLA or their 'bessie' mates.0

My husband has received letters from Rossendales for the same amount stating the same issue.
Vehicle sold on as a project and the new owner not notified SORN. However we had sent away transfer of ownership, but DVLA had not updated records, then we get a compliments slip off DVLA in January (months late) stating they have updated their records, however Rossendales still chase the amount as they say it does not matter because the date DVLA updated their records is after the date the debt was first notified??
Now I am way confused as they surely cannot do this. They are acting on behalf of their client DVLA who advised us that they have updated their records, surely with the dates advised ownership was transferred?
This is all very underhand by DVLA and Rossendales.
Where do we stand on this as DVLA were at fault for not updating their records in a timey manner.0 -
Of course it's underhanded, as I said above this is the dvla scam! When did you send off the notice of change of keeper to the dvla? Did you get proof of postage?
Normally we ask to start a new thread, in this case I think here is ok at to post as it's not a parking issue. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

They lose a large number of letters in system, quite obviously there are some serious flaws in their whole setup.
Indeed, they lost the slip when I sold a car to the trade, they lost two faxes when I wrote off another car, they tried to blame me, I took it all the way to my MP, they backed down and apologised. It must have cost them £100s trying to avoid a £14 refund.
They seem to work on the assumption that everyone is a crook. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

And remember, if DVLA gives you the run-around, it's a government agency which means that your MP can and should help you.Je suis Charlie.0

Hi all,
Just a (unpleasant) update:
I recently received notification from DVLA that the car I sold has now finally had it's ownership changed from me to the new owner (It's been over a year and he has taxed and MOTd it) but now I'm a bit worried as I have received a letter from Rossendales saying:
'WARNING- YOUR CREDIT RATING COULD BE SERIOSULY AFFECTED.
YOU WILL BE VISITED BY A DEBT COLLECTOT.
PHONE IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID ACTION - WE ARE HERE TO HELP'.
Please can I ask can they send debt collectors around if there hasn't been court action taken? I wrote to DVLA explaining that I have witnesses to me sending the details off when I sold the car?0
