Tax Credits Renewals - 2014

They keep saying there are no notes on my account to say why it hasnt been processed. Depending on who I speak to i get a different story. One lady said it was being checked - although i have had no requests for any evidence, another lady said they are just busy and thats why it hasnt been done and the person i spoke to today said he has referred it and I should recieve a phone call within 3 weeks!!
It's likely that the staff you've spoken to on the phone don't know what's going on with your renewal and that's why they keep saying different things. If it's been referred to the tax credit office, as blondebubbles said, then it's a completely different office and the staff you speak to in the contact centre won't be privy to their processes or investigations.0 -

HMRC are sending me reminder texts to remember to renew my claim or my payments will stop - as I still haven't had my pack that is a little hard :rotfl:
Anyone else getting these texts - I don't remember getting them in previous years. Maybe they are just trying to prove the do have a sense of humour...& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Blonde Bubbles im wondering if you can give me some advice as to whether you think i will receive an underpayment.
2012/13 earnings were £23191.00. 2013/14 earnings were £197180.00, So as i work it out its £19718.00 + £2500 disregard which makes last years earnings £22218.00. This means there was a £973.00 difference in earnings. Do you think i will be due an underpayment from this? Also will they base this years claim on the £22218.00? and if they do, will I be owed money from 5 April this year or am I getting this all wrong?
Sorry to be a pain but you seem to be the one in the know. Its all very confusing.
Many Thanks0 -

Have you called to ask why you haven't received as you should have by end of June.

Your 2014/15 claim will be recalculated on your 2013/14 income of £19718 (unless you give a new estimate for this year). If due any money from 6th Apr it will be held as a potential payment until the end of the year but any payments from now will increase.
yes thats what i worked it out at, thanks for that.0 -
Hi, was wondering if anyone can give some advice. We have 2 daughters, one of which was receiving highest rate care element of DLA and we were receiving tax credits accordingly. However, in April my second daughter was awarded highest rate care element of DLA also, and it was backdated to January. I forgot to notify Tax Credits until my renewal form came through, and I telephoned to notify them and to confirm income for the renewal. We received a higher weekly rate which amounted to an additional £90 per week, and a lump sum also, which would amount to 4 weeks backdated pay. Bearing in mind another 6 weeks backdated would be owing for this financial year, is this paid at the end of the financial year, or will we get this anytime soon? In addition, are we eligible for the backdated amount for the last financial year, going back to January? If so, when would this we forthcoming? I notified them in the middle of June, so not sure how timescales work or indeed how the system works. Thanking you in advance.0

Hi! I'm having a bit of a nightmare with renewals this year. Nothing has changed in circumstances or finances and I'm an auto renewal so should be straight forward.
My first renewal pack was sent on 2nd June but it didn't arrive so another was sent on 30th June. They had my correct address and details but this pack hasn't arrived either. I phoned today ( they answered within a minute!!!), another pack being sent out with an extended deadline.
I enquired into exactly how much was going into my account next Wednesday but they said future payments have been stopped! Got put through to another department who have said there's a technical glitch on my account, it's their fault and not mine and they'd call back (they haven't...Yet!...)
Anyway, just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and how long it took to fix. My account hasn't been finalised either and my potential payment not released.
Thank you in advance.0 -
I renewed in June the same day I got my packs (one for a old joint claim and one for my new single) and haven't heard back about either mine have always been quick turnarounds (about 2 weeks) I've never had to wait this long before0

Hi I renewed my tax credits by phone on 1st of May. I had called end of June wondering why I hadn't recieved my award notice for 14-15 and was adv not 8 weeks. I called again today as still not had anything as now 11wks and was told still not processed and took my number and said someone should get in contact within 3 weeks or might recieve notice within this time. I am getting worried that something is wrong as normally only takes 1-2 weeks previous years I have renewed. Anyone else got this problem? Thanks0
