Seems a lot of people are having problems this year
I rang over 4 weeks ago and still nothing.
Someone at my childrens school said theres a lot of new trainee advisors this year and if you get one of them it has to be double checked manually, I dont how true this is though but wish they would hurry up. never taken this long even when I had child care a few years ago I had a check and that didnt even take this long0 -

They say I earned : £ A and I submitted a figure which is different: £ B
The letter says it could be because I knocked off deductions allowed but instead they are going to use their figure £ A instead unless I call the helpline and advise them?????
Great.......... more time wasted trying to get through to them.
I can see this causing problems as we're coming up to holiday season. Particularly as it seems to take 2 or more weeks from them sending a letter to people receiving them!0 -

I posted off tax credit renewal on 8th of May which was received on the 12th of May, it still hasn't been processed. I've called a few times chasing it up, as I was concerned that maybe I was sent a compliance letter, not received it then payments would stop when I failed to send info back. Been advised no letter has been sent doesn't appear to be any checks taking place so why is it taking so long?
I'm a single parent, working part time with no childcare. They have given me date of 21st July as it'll then be 10 weeks, but what happens if it's not processed by then? I don't normally worry about the renewal process but this is stressing me out, I feel like I'm guilty of doing something wrong!
I'm still waiting. Sent back beginning of May, got a childcare compliance check which they received back on 18th June and still waiting for final decision.
It is concerning how long it is taking; have had childcare check in the past and that was a quick process.0 -

I am at almost 12 weeks and nothing yet. I was originally told 8 weeks and it changed to 10 as they were doing additional checks but this was the latest date it would be done by. That date has been and gone 2 weeks ago and it is still unprocessed and I know someone else who is exactly the same so I wouldn't bet on it being completed by the 21st. They way they are talking I don't even think mine has been looked at yet as it is on a work list and there is no notes whatsoever on it. They told me yesterday they have referred it whatever that means but I am really fed up waiting now but don't know what else I can do!!!!0 -
:mad:I renewed on 1st May 2014, rang up so many times, its been 11 weeks now and havent heard anything. They keep saying there are no notes on my account to say why it hasnt been processed. Depending on who I speak to i get a different story. One lady said it was being checked - although i have had no requests for any evidence, another lady said they are just busy and thats why it hasnt been done and the person i spoke to today said he has referred it and I should recieve a phone call within 3 weeks!! so still none the wiser!!! its really annoying, my friend recieved hers weeks after mine and hers was processed within 5 days!
Im pretty sure they owe me some money too. another 3 weeks will make it 14 weeks! absolute joke!!!0 -

I wouldn't expect a phone call in all cases.
Thanks for that, do you think that should push it through then? Im hoping for some money back and could really do with it. Do you think I might get something back without a phone call.
Thanks Again0 -

Thanks blonde bubbles is wondered what the meant as when I called yesterday I was put on hold for ages and when the girl came back she said it had been referred to the tax credit office last week and asked for my phone numbers.0 -
blondebubbles wrote: »Impossible to say as it depends on each case.
It could simply be stuck on a processing queue and be able to be pushed through. The paperwork would then be sent without any need for a phone call.
Or there could be something holding it up or a compliance check. If so then it's not easy to say what would happen as it depends on what's wrong/what is being investigated.
They said there are no notes on my account so say that there is any reason why or no mention of any compliance checks, i have not recieved any letters for extra info nor have my childcare providers recieved anything.
thanks
its just worrying and annoying that its taking so long and no explanation0 -

I was told mine has been selected for additional checks but it us still on an unprocessed work list with no notes to suggest it has been looked at yet. They also confirmed I have not been sent a letter or anything. I asked if there was anything I could send in to help but they said they check against their own systems so nothing was required from me. My referral was sent almost two weeks ago and still nothing but if there is a three week period it's maybe not been dealt with yet. Hopefully we will hear soon x0 -
So chances are if it's taking 10 weeks it's being checked then even when the advisor said they don't appear to be doing any checks? What do they check? I have no childcare etc.0
