Hi I renewed by post 2 weeks ago & have just got my final decision for 2013/14 today. Should I have also received my award notice for next year or are they sending them out after the final decision. Thanks in advance for any replies. x

You don't need to tell them of the medical insurance unless you get a P9 or P11D in which case it is treated as a Benefit In Kind and needs to be reported, they will need to know the cash equivalent of medical insurance or company car if you have one. Hope this helps x
great, thanks so do i add the cash amount to my p60 amount?
  • I'm having an absolute nightmare with mine. I'm self employed, made a profit of only £300 or so last tax year, worked 35 hours a week.
I told them over the phone that my working hours had gone up to 45 a week from last September or so (a bit late informing them I know) and renewed my claim while I was on.
Got a letter a couple of weeks later saying that I was no longer entitled to tax credits and that I owed them £1600 or so in overpayments.
Turns out the guy on the phone had processed it incorrectly and they said they'd fix it.
Just gotten another letter today saying that although I no longer owe them any money I'm no longer entitled to tax credits.

The simple fact is that I work 45 hours a week at my business for virtually no profit. How on earth can I not be entitled to tax credits?

This is very stressful, I need tax credits to stay off the dole and try to grow my business.
  • Award letter I think.
  • Just gotten off the phone with them. They're sending it to their service department to check it over. The simple fact is that I meet the eligibility, keep my accounts and tax returns up to date so it should be OK (even though I've got unpaid bills piling up). The lady on the phone said that worst case scenario was that they'd have to restart my claim and backdate the payments.

I renewed 10 weeks ago and was told I had been selected for extra checks and it would be completed for today but it's still on an unprocessed work list. I have never had any letters etc and when I queried this I was told they can access the information they need for checks. Is there anyway I can speed this up as I earned more than I estimated (much more than previous year as I started full time employment when I left uni last June) so I know I will have an overpayment. I have not claimed for this year as I will earn over the threshold so not sure if this has caused problems. Thanks in advance x

Our tax credits randomly stopped a few weeks ago and we've had no renewal pack. Should I have received one by 30/06? If so, shall I phone them?
