Any children now 16? They might have done an auto renewal, but you should still have got a letter telling you that. Try & ring them today to ask, but they will be busy.

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
I just renewed mine over the telephone.

I am SE and gave them actual earned income, not estimated income.

They said my renewal would be 'finalised' within 8 weeks (he said about the end of August). Can someone tell me what this means-'finalised'? Does that mean i'll get my award notice then, with my payment dates and amounts on it?

Anyone know the quietest times to phone the helpline?

I have tried various time slots but I am infuriated at continually being told "we can't deal with your call right now, goodbye" after going through the rigmarole of the IVR and giving all my details.

Surely it would make sense to tell callers this at the very start of the call?

    Argggh rant over

Nope, she's turned one so if anything I'd be expecting them to double check my maternity length and pay

Our tax credits randomly stopped a few weeks ago and we've had no renewal pack. Should I have received one by 30/06? If so, shall I phone them?

Still waiting here for a renewal pack too. No joy in getting through on the phone either yet - this usually happens to me every July so I'm not panicking yet, but I will be away from home for the last week of July so that makes this year specially exciting in getting the forms done :D
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

As done in countless years filled in and made the allowed deductions for pension payments. Yet for first time got letter this weekend to say there is a difference in income I have put forward to what they have on file.

    They say I earned : £ A and I submitted a figure which is different: £ B

The letter says it could be because I knocked off deductions allowed but instead they are going to use their figure £ A instead unless I call the helpline and advise them?????

Great.......... more time wasted trying to get through to them.

Unbelievable - they assume you got it wrong or committed fraud unless you advise them otherwise. Why can't the forms have boxes for pension deductions etc, or a free format box where you can explain deductions, like on tax returns and benefits forms?

Also why can't they just look up pension contributions, after all the pension company will have claimed tax relief from HMRC and they have your NI number, so HMRC should know exactly how much you've contributed to a private pension.

Ok so I renewed my tax credits this evening. I am self employed with a very low income as its my first year (well 11 months) of trading and my partner recieves carers allowance for our son.
I think we already receive the highest amount for tax credits so is anything likely to change ?

Also im really worried now im due to receive my 4 weekly amount on Monday. Will that payment still go ahead whilst they are processing the renewal or are they likely to stop payments in the meantime ?

    Thank you in advance.
  • I finally got through on the helpline yesterday to query where my pack was - assured it was produced on 31/5 & "Hadn't I had it yet?" - yes, of course I'd wasted hours of my life trying to get through for a laugh :rotfl:

Result is I was told that there had been a problem with sending out packs & many people weren't receiving them on time, & certainly not within the 2 week time frame that TC allow for sending them out. I don't know why my pack should have been lost as there haven't been any changes for 2 years.

I was assured that as I'd reported not getting my pack, a new pack would be issued with a later deadline return date, & my payments shouldn't stop. Lets hope they don't....

So if you're still waiting for your renewal pack then give them a ring to report its non arrival. Amazingly I got through at 4.30 pm (after quite a long wait....) & the 3 different people I spoke to were very helpful.

At this time of year I count my lucky stars that I don't work on the TC helpline :D
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D
