Tax Credits Renewals - 2014

I can never get through to them, still don't have my pack! I go through all the automated voice recognition things and then it says they're too busy and to call back another time.

Only the income (ie interest, and any rent etc you received). Not the capital from the sale. You can deduct £300 from your total of "other income" ie interest etc.

Hi Ive still not received my renewal but rang up today to give new income details and ask about where the form was but they just took my income details and processed my renewal asked a few questions, didnt even ask about the form, told me i would get a final award from this last year and a new one for this year and thats my renewal complete.
said i might get a one off payment and it will be done within 8 weeks so glad its over with was worried sick about not receiving it hate this time of year.
How long are renewals taking this year?

Morning All

Just had this years renewal drop through the front door this morning in a white envelope, very late this year I usually have it through for end of March or beginning of April. I know in previous years when the renewals are sent generally means something, such as they are looking at your childcare or self employment, ours is very straight forward, should I be worried it has only just arrived? Or am I being paranoid?

no dont think you should be worried, i still have not received mine but managed to renew without it yesterday

Haven't had mine yet, not in the least bit worried, the Tax Credits website says to give it until the end of June.

I said they are way way out and i had rang hrmc paye and even they dont know where you are getting the figures from!

She checked around and said that as we was on jsa beg of year the "system" had put a figure in of my dp salary, on top of that it had calc jsa for the yr, as apparantly it doesnt remove it auto, then it had calc my temp earnings and again plus jsa for coming year (even tho i wasnt on it after beg apr 13!
This gave a total of 18k

She apparantly adjusted it and i would get a new letter.

I did yesterday! This time she has correct figures in the earnings box, but the total now is nearly 19k!!

So i rang yet again, they said that it will eventually right itself as the system has to "catch up"
In the meantime we get £10 wtc along with £60 ctx!
until i have recieved the renewal form (which she said should have been recieved yesterday but wasnt), if i dont recieve by next week call them and they resend.

After paying rent in full and ctax we are now left with £24 less than if we unemployed!

I cant understand how they can say that their error stands until i fill in renewal form, which is prob lost!

I think this may help.Hopefully I have this info correct as others will have had similar problems. Similarly to you I suddenly found our WTC gone and only £12.80 weekly for Ctc.. Apparently there is a new system now where the employer/benefits advises HMRC about the income of each claimant, they automatically change the Tax Credits based only on this information, even though obviously not everyone will have had their renewal form and will not have been able to give additional info about things like for example, Additional Pension Purchase, or other deductions. In your case it will not have taken into account any new info you would have given then. I'm surprised that she said she could amend anything, because I was told he couldn't do anything to my details until I'd sent all info in along with the renewal form..
There's nothing that can be done apparently until I get my renewal form which i was told have been delayed this year, then send the appropriate info, ideally a back payment will then be made on the actual income.

So hopefully your renewal pack will be with you soon. I was told mine was sent on the 2/6/14 so same as you. I was told if it doesn't come by Friday to let them know.

Looks like this has happened to us too, our WTC didn't get paid this week. It's not a huge amount so doesn't matter much (the CTC would be a much bigger problem), so I wonder whether they have used my wife's reported income figure. This would be a big mistake as there are significant deductions that have to be made from it when reported.
