Hi just got in from work, not read the thread yet.
Pouring down here:rolleyes:

Been looking at the price of bedsteads as ours collapsed yet again last night:o we weren't even up to anything!:D ;) my sister has offered to buy us one for my birthday but DH not keen as he wants to mend it again! I do like mine as its a lovely kingsized pine one so we'll have to see how well he can mend it!

I lost another 1 and a half pounds last week:j so now only need to lose a pound and I've lost a whole stone:D dont know how I managed that after making a batch of Twink's hobnobs!;)

off to sort tea now - veggie frittata with cajun wedges and salad then later I'm off to tap class.

catch up later

Good afternoon old stylers. Thought I'd drop you a quick line whilst I'm here waiting for OH to get in from work. No doubt he'll arrive in about 30 seconds and announce tht he's starving  men!

Tea is all ready to go - breadcrumbed chicken with spaghetti/tomato sauce, so won't take long to finish off once he gets in.

I have to admit that I'm starving too, cos I went to the gym this afternoon. To motivate myself to run more, I am paying myself £1 per minute of running. 100 minutes = a new ipod, cos my cr@ppy old mp3 player is rubbish; no shuffle function & tends to cut off mid-workout for no reason

PenPin - enjoy the show! Shame about the op, but I'm sure it'll help in the long run
grannybroon - congrats granny :T
oopsadaisy - well done on getting the job :j
B Rzl - hope the gym deal works out for you. I only pay £35 per month, one of the advantages of living in the poor north!
dlb - they'll never know about the chicken ;) as long as you can disguise the kitty teeth marks!
I have deliberately not looked at Twink's hobnob recipe, biscuits are most definately off the menu in this house (along with cakes, chocolate, ice cream, puddings, wine.....)

I hear keys in the lock, see ya peeps

Good evening everyone :hello:

PP - mega ((((hugs)))) to you and lots of luck to your DD for tonight.

When it's tomorrow, I'm going to have a big sigh of relief. I'm exhausted after this week at work. I suppose it's because I've been here there and everywhere. Tonight was a lovely treat as one of the governors of the school had invited everyone (teachers, teaching assistants and governors) for tea at her house. It was a lovely way to relax and she put on a gorgeous spread of chocolate cake, scones, strawberries, raspberries etc. Mmmmm. I made sure that I didn't pig out too much as I've got a portion of chilli con carne defrosting for supper tonight. I don't want to be too much of a piggy. :D

DH is going to his friend's house tonight before they set off for a stag do in Edinburgh. DH is an usher, with his other friend being best man. The best man has done a fantastic job in organising it all, but hasn't organised any fancy dress or t-shirts. Not that it's obligatory, BUT it seems to be what DH's group of friends does. To get his own back, DH has purchased "Vicky Pollard" outfits, including fat suits, wigs, eye shadow and lipstick for both the best man and groom. :rotfl: I sincerely hope that photos are taken. :D

They're having Fray Bentos pies for their supper, so at least I get to eat up the little bits and bobs of food currently languishing in the freezer. :D Hence why it's chilli tonight.

Anyway, I've got to go for now.

Vicky

OK Taplady, got to ask the question!!!! What are you doing to make your bed collapse more than once??????????????? Don't believe your lame excuse! What goes on behind closed doors stays there methinks!

Well Vicky, think central Edinburgh a no-go area for us this weekend!! Sorry, but don't think the forecast up here very good for the lads. Mind you, I don't expect they will even notice and I think train disruption tomorrow has been called off.

GB xx

The only change to their schedule has been that they're no longer going "river bugging" (whatever that is), but they WILL be going white water rafting. Should you ((shudder)) happen to bump into two late-thirties Vicky Pollards, please do yourself a favour and run away from them.

As for the weather, just so long as it doesn't dilute their pints then they're not overly fussed.

DH lived in Edinburgh whilst he was growing up, so I think he's looking forward more to reliving some of his youth!

Hi sharon59 -welcome. I'm new too and everyone is soo nice on here. Congratulations OopsADaisy on your job - hope it goes really well for you!

Had a pretty good day, friend and her baby popped in this morning which was a nice surprise. DD1 went to playgroup after lunch so I took the other 2 little mutants shopping for school uniform. also got some errands for my Grandad. Changed all the beds and cleaned the kids rooms, feel really organised now I'm more on top of the housework. Did a really nice meal inspired from one of the posts on here which went down well with all the family.
Can anyone help me - have read loads of posts about Twinks hobnob biscuits - what are they?? They sound good!
Hope everyone else has had a good day, take care xx

Evening All

Sorry havnt read the thread today, so hope everyone is ok, (((hugs))) if you need one and I hope I havnt missed any important news.

Wireless network is crashing all the time - apparantly its one of the 'quirks' of Vista so lovely PC man will hopefully fix it over the phone tomorrow afternoon or if not will pop round. Certainly hope it is fixed - am getting serious withdrawal symptons and its taking me ages to do anything. Also have found myself addicted to solitaire as am playing that whilst awaiting internet to come up!

Apart from the pc playing up had a good day today, 2 loads of washing done and food shopping done fo DD's party on saturday. Also had been feeling down and frumpy so took time over my hair today and went for a pedicure - not very os but very enjoyable and perked me up no end.

Had roast chicken for dinner and off to bed in a min to watch True Dare Kiss - I enjoyed it last week. Off for lunch with friends tomorrow really looking forward to that.

Take Care
