Well done Daisy. fab news :T :T :T
I have just started off my first try at home made yoghurt - now sitting comfortably in the airing cupboard doing its stuff!
I have had a rummage through the cupboards and the freezer and have a good selection of additions for flavouring, so I will let the children customise it tomorrow morning for their lunches! Fingers crossed - OH is doubtful that it will be suitable to eat, and also doubts whether it will save me money, but apart from anything else I will know exactly what has gone in it, and I am sure it won't work out any more expensive than shop bought ones.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well done daisy!!
Help needed, i got a chicken out to defrost at about 11 this morning nipped to pick dd up from nursery.
I had covered it with a teatowel and it was still fully wrapped but the b@@dy cat has managed to move the tea towel and chew through the cligfilm and has made a start on the chicken!!!!!!
Can i save any of it????, he has only eat a small piece from one of the breasts!! I really cant aford to waste a whole chicken that was ment to be for tea tommorow!!!
If it was me, I would just trim the immediate area that has been chewed and would cook the rest, without telling a soul.......:oSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Congratulations oops a daisy :T
DLB - sorry don't know what to suggest, maybe if you cut off the affected area, the heat from cooking it will kill anything elseNot really sure - hope someone else knows - fingers crossed.
I'm at w**k, naughtily browsing tinternetMy plans for dinner have changed, as I was having a browse as to what recipes I could use using pork mince - found one which sounds fabulous, Mexican meatballs and red rice - I'll reserve judgement on it and let you know if it was any good tomorrow - sounds delish though, and more importantly, I have everything at home that I need.
Better go and do some work (only 2 hours and 20 minutes to go  ).Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Congratulations oopsadaisy :T :T
FBThree - I sympathise about selfish phone users. Forgot to say in my earlier post that I had a proper rant at two young men last night on the bus who were not only playing music out loud on their phones, they were sampling EVERY track they had  I'm usually quite mild-mannered but this is really my pet hate... why do these people seem to think everybody else should have to put up with their music
AussieLass - it does seem a brilliant deal doesn't it? And the gym I'm thinking of is sooooo lovely, it's built into the bridge arches on the riverbank beneath Cannon Street bridge, and the interior design really makes the most of the brickwork and curves. The swimming area has a lengths pool and an aqua-fit pool, and a spa bath, all built into little cubby-holes in the structure. It's so peaceful there, it makes you want to spend time there rather than being there under suffrance! (I know it as I've been there a few times with free trials from newspaper offers). I am due a "cost of living" payrise this month but have already absorbed all my increased costs, so am happy to fork out a few quid for a touch of luxury in my life!Operation Get in Shape

I would say the same as others dlb - trim the affected area ( perhaps cover it with a piece of bacon so it doesnt dry out ) and make sure it is thoroughly cooked through.
Mum is on her way to take me out to lunch so I thought I would pop back on for a few minutes. Thankyou for the congratulations everybody - it really is such a weight off my mind. My life seems to have been on hold since being made redundant so I will have to stop myself from going and blowing all of my redundancy money now  I think I will treat my DD to some new clothes though as she has been really good about it all.
 shes here - got to go:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -

Congrats Daisy - Well done!
DLB - I would do what hypno suggested! It wont hurt! After all, the amount of times Ive caught my cat eating the meat, then Ive served it straight to my ex for his dinner - and he's still breathing!!! :rotfl:
Im very tired today. roll on bed time.
Just about to the spuds in the oven for dinner.
What can I cook the pork chops in! I would normally grill them with seasoning. But find they can be tough to eat! Ive also tried slicing an apple before, and layering the apples on the chops and covering it in cheese, and grill for a few mins when the chops are ready! Mmmm, think I might do this! BUt Im still open to suggestions for the next couple of hrs at least!
Thanks xxx

CRAZYCHIK - I do my pork chops slowly - Gas 5 - in a little olive oil in the oven - you could cover them with foil for the first 20 mins. I have also braised them in mushroom soup, also in the oven; in fact - you can add anything to pork chops! One of my faves is HM ratatouille with stock and some chilli and paprika powder - done - yes, you've guessed it - in the oven. You could also cook roasties to go with it then you've made the most of using the oven!
DLB - the times I've rescued food from my now deceased cats! Even the Christmas turkey, once! My DH has also survived a lamb chop that fell on to the floor and got stepped on and various other items of food that had been interfered with! He's got a cast-iron stomach!
Have made my first batch of Twinks! Boy - are they good? Will definitely become a regular fixure round here.
I have worked really hard today - cleaned upstairs and downstairs, turned out the dreaded bathroom cupboad and found my riding hat and several other things I'd forgotten about. I've made some cakes and two loaves of bread, done some paperwork, walked up the shops - in the rain, no point waiting for a sunny moment! - and posted some letters and now I'm about to have a snooze. I don't have to cook tonight because we are going to DS2 and his GF's so that is a luxury.
TIRED MUM - sounds like your DH could be anaemic but I have also heard that people with depression sleep a lot because it gives them a break from thinking about things. I do hope things look up for you soon.
OOPSADAISY - congratulations on your new job. Well done!
BARGAINRZL - I knew there was a valid reason why we can't park! Hope you feel better soon.
See you all later.

I have never really got on with pork chops. However, I have an ancient recipe for belly pork, much the same.
Bag of casserole mix in a dish. Layer sliced spuds on top. Dip the pork in milk and roll in either breadcrumbs or stuffing mix. lay them over the spuds and bake until cooked. It was always tender, but sorry to be a bit vague it is coming up from the jurassic period!
I think now I would put the pork on top of the spuds and miss out the casserole veg.0 -

We have had two lots of viewers but doubt if either of them were "serious" - does not help that the house next door that was "sold" has just gone back on the market.
Let's hope that a moan about it helps get things moving."This site is addictive!"
