Still rain in devonLoving Life,Family,Work
and my greats love is the Grandchildren xx0 -
Just wanted to welcome MUTANTK - nice to 'meet' you!
Still haven't made the TWINKS yet - think I'll do them today whilst I'm baking then I can take some over to DS2 tonight - if there's any left!
Have just changed the sheets, cleaned the bathroom and washed the floor and emptied upstairs bins; having a quick coffee now and then I'll dust and hoover up there and tackle the nightmare bathroom cupboard. It's a very useful floor-to-ceiling but a bit too easy to just open the door and throw things in which is what I've been doing since we came back from our trip! I know my riding hat is in there somewhere and I'm thinking of taking up riding again, perhaps once a week for now, so I need to find it. I know I'll find lots of other things in there that I didn't know I had.
DANNA - you've been working so hard on your garden, I really hope we get some summer so you can enjoy the fruits of your labour! I can just picture you with a 'lady's' axe!
WM has just finished the second load so I need to empty that and get the next load in - towels which will definitely have to be TDd now!
See you all later.

Oh dear what a start to the day. OH tossed and turned and woke me up at 1:30, which made me want to get up for the loo which woke PsychoKitty up. He was good though - ate some food, and only tried to suckle for a bit before curling up to go to sleep in my arms. That of course, was when I realised I needed a hankie and starting sneezing loads, disturbing OH even more.
THEN heard 20yr Mum-cat be sick. Got up just in time to catch her next bout of sick before it hit OH's laid out work clothes! Then lay in bed depressed for ages before OH got up. Finally got back to sleep.
......Got up to an email from OH who'd got to work 2hrs away to discover he didn't have his wallet. He's not due home until tomorrow night and is having to borrow money left right and centre for lunch and dinner! (Thankfully the car is full of fuel already). OH is blaming PK because he was trying to climb his leg when he was getting dressed and is threatening to take him to the woods and leave him, but it wasn't PK who started the whole saga (but do you think I reminded OH of that?:o . Nope - I just ran away from the email and hoped he'd calm down. He'd probably blame not sleeping on me cooking dinner late)
I've just had to listen to 20 mins worth of SELFISH car phone user trying to phone everyone.      He's been sat in a van a few doors away from our house with the phone on hands-free very LOUD and must have made 10 calls. If I hear another BRRG BRRG I'll scream. My windows are closed and I can still hear him! If I was fully dressed I'd go out and scream at him. Why are people SO inconsiderate?
AND then car insurance quote person phoned and babbled on and on about car insurance....why don't they ever ask if it's a good time to talk? The bath was running, PK was trying to kill Mum-cat. and the phone cord, and the blackbirds sound like there's an invader crow after them all at the same time...AAARGH.
On a plus point - although its cloudy its not raining for the first time in days! :T
Congrats to GB on the new arrival. Hope you all have a MUCH better day than mine has started out to be.0 -
Morning everybody :hello:
Feeling off-colour this morning thanks to a bit of an upset tum. Not sure why as for once it's not self-inflicted
Got two Freecyclers coming round this evening - one for the remaining cardboard boxes that have been stashed behind my bed ever since I moved into my flat, and the other for my artificial Christmas tree, which I only bought last year but I had a lot less furniture at the time, and there's no way it's ever going to fit in my flat again!
I was reading the latest Money Tips email yesterday and I'm quite excited by the new PruHealth gym membership/health insurance loophole. I used to go to the gym a few years back, but got sick of paying £45 a month for a basic gym with no swimming pool. I couldn't afford £80 a month  for membership of the beautiful Cannons gym ten minutes from my office, but it would seem that this deal might mean I could join it for less than £25 a month, which I could easily findWhat I'm trying to decide is whether I want it just for the gym membership, or whether I should pay a bit more and get comprehensive health insurance cover. I've always been in good health and never had any problems with the NHS, however since somebody I knew died in MY local hospital the other week because he'd had to wait THREE YEARS for surgery by which time he was too ill to cope with it, I might consider private health cover if the numbers add up.

I GOT OFFERED A JOB
Panic over - I can relax now. Works out that I have been out of work for a month and will start the new job just after my holidays in August so I have a few weeks off to sort out my home & lifethat smile looks just like me right now - smiling like the Cheshire Cat. My Mum is coming over to pick me up to take me out for a celebratory lunch. I need to get the person that put a good word in for me a gift to say thankyou - I was thinking of paying for her a beauty treatment
any suggestions ?
Im still in my jammies as I have been on the phone all morning - got to go - will check in later :hello::cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Finally got round to straining the four jars of elderberry extract I made a few months ago.
Scarily enough the stains that the juice leaves look like blood! Just waiting for the elderberries on the bush outside to turn black so that I can make some more.
DH wants to drive to Leeds to look for storage so we can put Dds uni stuff away safely while our house is for sale.
Quite miffed that we have not had crowds of eager buyers! It has been two weeks! lol.
When we bought this house we offered the full asking price and still ended up in a Dutch auction with three other buyers to get it.
If only that could happen now, but I will not hold my breath!
DH keeps telling me to be patient but he is even keener on the new house than I am.
Hugs to penny pincher, good luck to her daughter and hugs to anyone feeling low."This site is addictive!"

Daisy Congratulations  :T:T:T
Tired Mum DH might be a bit anemic and have low iron. Unless you're wearing the poor dear out every night I"ll get it checked out.
Elona I can't believe you've got no lookers in 2 weeks either.Hang in there.
Rzl That sounds a great deal. I'm sure you'll use the gym for that price each month anyway even if you don't do the health cover.
Well I was going to watch my murder/crime shows on the telly tonight but DH is hogging it. I've just made myself a hot milo and having a enjoyable surf instead.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
