Is there any way to motivate the missus to lose weight? Running out of ideas...

I am also wondering if density could have something to do with it. I don't know any scientific evidence behind it, but my DD has always been much lighter than what one would expect her to be when picking her up whereas the exact opposite applies to my boy. He is slim looking, but picking him up and he feels like he is made of stones. It's odd.0

Some 'metabolic' disorders actually, rather than just feeling the cold more seem not to handle temperatures well.
For example. I am usually cold. But I can find it very hard to cope with hot weather. Today was fairly typical. I was cold most of the day, then became comfortable, long after my family who were here, and then found in a warm environment of the car I was simply unable 'to cope' with the changes most bodies would make without any thought or much effort.
Today has been particularly bad and sadly we had to turn home from our excursion where I went from being very hot to dramatically cold then ok, then hot and cold again for a bit before evening out.
I had to come to bed very early todaybut I am in bed tonight with athe electric blanket and winter weight duvet and two blankets while my husband is still running about in shorts.

Yet you have no central heating, get it fitted LIR, stop suffering and keep your home at a steady even temperature!0 -
Of course we do, but you have missed my point - binge eating is not an excuse for being fat.
This is where it gets ridiculous - anything other than 'normal' is a disorder!
Dont think I missed your point, was just responding to your point about fruit and binge eating.
From what Ive read some people who have had non specific eating disorders have been quite ill, but because they arent anorexic or overweight, theyve been denied treatment.
Its about the effect on someones life, not just about something being a disorder or not as far as Im concerned.0 -

I have central heating now person one. As of last month.
Its amazing!:j:j:j it has already improved my quality of life a lot, and its spring!
( as background we did fit heating before but had to go through a lengthy process of mediation ( during which you are not allowed to replace or repair) then law courts when it didn't work. The year before so some else needed our help more than we needed heating when we'd already had a high expenditure year)0 -

Yes, my mother and sister are like that. My wife on the other hand has a slowish metabolism and feels the cold, although heat, even extreme 40°C heat doesn't phase her.0 -

I've always considered myself to be small boned, even though I'm 5'6", so I checked out that link and measured my wrist. It's dead on 6"=small boned. I was quite surprised it was as much as 6" though because my wrists are tiny.0

It will go off soon, but the house needs to be properly heated though, its been unheated for long enough, so we are leaving it on when normally I'd think it profligate. Its probably making me a bit wussier times like today maybe.0
