Why would it not? Independent country, remember? Would you expect France or Eire to be included in a UK competition? All I am saying is that the majority of competitions are UK only, that is the current fact. Anything else is speculation.0

The reason the majority of competitions are UK only is because there is a UK.
If the UK ceases to exist they will be open to whoever the competition provider wants to be included. i.e Exactly the same as it is now.0 -
Another earlier thread on this topic was https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4942544If Scotland votes for independence in September it could take a considerable time before independence actually takes place. Companies with no presence in Scotland may well restrict prizes to the rest of the UK (and vice versa). Companies that are UK wide are likely to split away a "Scottish Division" for tax and regulatory reasons and will probably have their own responsibility for comps in Scotland, and in theory, prizes would be proportionately lower. eg. ITV and UTV might have a £45,000 prize and STV would have a £5,000 prize whereas they currently have a combined £50,000 prize. This would be even more likely if Scotland were not to continue using the pound. Scotland would also need a replacement for the ASA and IPM and though it wouldn't be a priority, they could even change the laws on competitions such as taxable prizes (USA), mandatory NPN entry (NI), mandatory skill questions (Canada).0

OMG Don't we hear enough about this on the news, in the papers, on the radio, on social media.....why argue about all the what ifs/buts etc before the decision has been made on Thursday/Friday. It is in the hands of the Scottish as the rest of the UK don't get to vote!
Anyway, many Scottish comps are for Scotland residents only already (many I said - not all!)

Damn, if only all those Falklanders had moved to Stirling rather than Stanley :rotfl:
Incidentally, I find it mildly amusing that expat Scots can't vote, yet non-Scots resident (who are effectively voting for whether or not they want to be classed as a British expat...) in Scotland can vote...0 -
LOL My mum owns a square foot of land on the Isle of Arran so she has the title of 'Lady of Largybey' on her certificate! My dad bought it for her birthday a few years back. So she is annoyed that she doesn't get a say either!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0
