Same here, Happysaz. Mentioned this months ago in some other thread and have commented in the thread above in the post by mjm3346. I think we would be in the same position as Eire. No entry to UK competitions.0

I guess it depends how an independent Scotland intends to replace the UK Gambling Commission, and the acts that concern both paid for and free competitions and lotteries.
From a report I read that was published in February, there had been no word on what an independent Scotland intended to do. A quick Google still can't find any recent proposals on this.
It's even down to things like how STV and ITV would be treated in an independent Scotland - if things stayed the same, then I suspect all of the STV/ITV comps would still be open to those north of the English border.
I would be surprised if Scotland was treated in the same way as Eire, though, and I suspect that if it was, it would mean more comps exclusive to Scotland...0 -
Sure there would Snake, just that Scotland won't be part of the remaining United Kingdoms and their competitions will not be accessible to us.0

The problem (or one of) with Yes aficionados is that they want to have their cake and eat it. "Yes, we will have a completely independent country, but by the way, we will still use the currency of a different country, have no restrictions in trade or travel, be part of all the things the other country is part of and be able to enter all the competitions which are restricted to that country". Come on, make your mind up, you are either all in, or completely out. What makes you think it should be otherwise? If a competition rule says UK only, an independent Scotland would no longer be part of the UK and we would lose eligibility to enter about 80% of the competitions currently available to us. It is pure speculation to expect this would not be so; as with so much of Salmond's blustering, it comes down to speculation and guesswork, not a basis I want for my future or my children's.0
