Comping & Scottish Independence

Let's not get into a yes vs no to independence debate.
As someone on the other side of the border, I don't really mind what you vote, but do wish you could make your minds up ASAP. So either way, it would then not feature so frequently on news programmes broadcast from England... :rotfl:
Whether Scotland becomes independent or not, I'm sure there will be plenty of comps for you still to enter. Not least of all because I expect that promoters will be keen to retain your custom! The number of comps open, for example, internationally on various blogs and other websites is increasing, so it's likely that if Scotland did go independent there'd be a growing number of comps still available to you.0 -

I couldn't put it better myself I am also planning to vote yes. I reckon it will be a lot closer than Westminster & the media are prepared to admit as most people I know are planning to vote yes and none of us have ever been asked to take part in any polls. Hopefully if we are lucky enough to get a Yes vote we will still be allowed to take part in comps0 -

id say it would dependon the company -if scotland gets independence the mail and otbher serivces might become more expensive so they might not want to send prizes
this is all speculation of courseWhat goes around-comes around0 -

Most of that applies to me too, and I'm English.
I'm torn about the rights of who gets to vote. At face value it seems obvious that it's up to the Scots to decide what they want to do, but as someone said above, it will affect us too. It's a bit like someone deciding to get a divorce. It's their choice, but it affects the rest of the family too, who don't get a say in it.
I would be gutted if you lot divorced us and the UK had to disband. I prefer that boarders are broken down, rather than built. And I also think that if you do, you should have to pay alimonyBut I will let you off the last part if you promise faithfully that we will still be able to enter the Christmas Haggis competition.

It's not actually the Scots who decide though it's people who are resident and eligible to vote in Scotland. My husband who was born in Edinburgh does not get a vote.
If we don't get to play in the Haggis comp I suggest we don't let them play the Pringles game...Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.

I am not fussed if Scotland become independent or not! I'm just thinking of the poor Union Jack changing to...
It doesn't look so good!
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
I think it's location is fine and would make a good border
And it needs to be manned by centurions. Lots of them. Julius Caesar said you couldn't trust the Scottish Barbarians... :rotfl:
For any Scottish people on the forum, that wasn't designed to be offensive, but as a joke: Caesar, in his writings, only made the Scottish sound more exciting by describing their 'barbaric' behaviour. And the Druids.
Agree about the flag, Bella.. :eek:0
