When I was a kid we had vinegar with tuna fish. I never even tasted mayonnaise (or salad cream) until I was an adult.
I can see why bread might be a bit dry without any butter though.

    Vinegar gives me heartburn :(

Shredded courgette is a good substitute for pasta and shredded cauliflower makes a great rice substitute.

Leek is good for lasagne too, the hairy bikers use it

Never thought of trying leek, I can see how that would work as well though. I like leeks sauteed in a nice bit of butter.

Rice is something else I'm not keen on so I tend to substitute veg such as cauli or cabbage.

I eat a lot of sweet potatoes, I've tried the courgette instead of pasta, it's ok, haven't had it in a while though. I cook a lot of soups, different kinds of curries, I like pak choi. I'll give most things a go. I like spelt as well and it's good for you.

I don't like quinoa. And I tried tempeh but let's just say the crows were well fed that day.

Butternut squash soup is very nice.
  • Butternut squash soup is delicious, Celery soup is actually lovely too. I make a lot of home made soup as it's so easy (can make it out of practically anything) & very filling.
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

If you like mustard and some people don't you could mix it with tuna. Or a bit of Worcester sauce. Even a home made tomato salsa would go well with tuna. I like green Tabasco and you could mix that with tuna or add a few jalapeños.

    I love pak choi

Avocardo is on my list to try

Re soup, it really doesn't fill me up unless I have a load of bread with it, I find it so unsatisfying

Mayo is one of the easiest things to make your self. Then you can control what goes in to it.
It is lovely with a hint of garlic or lemon. I tend to make it to go with fish.

I've not lost anything since the last time I weighted myself a few weeks ago. But I've not gained either.

I won't be surprised if after yesterday, I have gained. We went out for my birthday. But other than what I ate in the evening, I didn't eat a huge amount yesterday.
