Hi goldie
You probably already know this but you sign up to Netflix a month at a time so you don't need to worry about a contract. My DH signs up for a few months then cancels it when he's seen all he wants to see.
When we move back home, we're going to cancel sky and are looking at Now tv for the channels we can't get anymore.

Actually ... now that cable has finally arrived at my town, if I signed on to it, it'd be good enough for streaming, wouldn't it... since I moved here, I've had to download catch up tv and then play it, which in practice means only iplayer. And they're going to charge for iplayer soon. I feel a change in the waters coming on, just as I'm retiring2023: the year I get to buy a car0

You may already have considered this but you can get cashback via the usual suspect sites for being a new customer with VM. Might be worth considering.
I was also keen to watch Better Call Saul - but I struggled with it. Did watch it all but it was definitely a chore. IMO nowhere close to Breaking Bad0 -

Yes, I had heard before that Netflix is good for dipping in and out of.
We ditched Sky about 18 months ago, and there's been times where we'd wanted to see things, but we no longer had the channels. Also, Mr Goldie has missed the sport channels a bit. We may go for an intermediate Virgin package, with some extra channels and BT Sport, but not the full Monty Sky Sports packageActually ... now that cable has finally arrived at my town, if I signed on to it, it'd be good enough for streaming, wouldn't it... since I moved here, I've had to download catch up tv and then play it, which in practice means only iplayer. I was looking at Quidco and there's some good cashback amount on offer. But if we do it (and we're currently 99% sure we will, we'll go with the local agent, as he was the one that got us thinking about it, and it'd be nice to have a 'real' person to contact if there's any issues.
Ironically, our Talk Talk internet connection has been fine for almost a week, but I think the time has come for a change. I've messaged Talk Talk to tell them the broken internet appears to be mended, and requested that they cancel the Openreach engineer booked for Wednesday.
Good news yesterday - Mr Goldie received a letter inviting him to apply for his state pension :j It can all be done online, he's registered, but they post an access code to him. As soon as he receives that, we'll do the necessary
Bad news - birds have been pecking at our courgettesWe've moved the pot, so they may not find it again

Virgin have told BT that they are taking over the phone line, and we've had email from BT to confirm we are finishing with them on 20th July
I need to tell Talk Talk to cancel the broadband - I'll do that in the next day or so.... I need to brace myself for that one, as no doubt I'll have to talk to the 'retentions team'
I've opened my online billing account with Virgin.
So far so good.
We have picked our first courgette of the year, which we'll have for dinner. I'm using my new grill pan for the first time, to do fairly plain salmon, and I'll cut the courgette in strips lengthwise, so they'll end up with nice grill marks ( I hope!)Early retired - 18th December 2014
