Surely no one believes signing an online petition will get us a second referendum? I just like the idea that the conservatives at the top of the Brexit campaign are now in the uncomfortable position of looking forward to the end of their careers"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. I read today that people like Boris and other leading Brexiteers have now got themselves into a rather difficult situation. They didn't really expect to win and now that Cameron has resigned, one of them will need to take the role of actually leaving the EU, potentially breaking up the UK and dealing with the fallout until they get voted out in the next general election. The words 'poisoned chalice' have been mentioned more than once!
What a disappointing and frustrating mess
I hope someone is telling them 'be careful what you wish for'.

It is a real mess. The only bright spot for me will be watching Boris and chums try and sort it out - at the moment I suspect none of them has a clue what to do about itSurely no one believes signing an online petition will get us a second referendum? If you take into account that some people are now saying they made a mistake in how they voted ( they only had two choices, shouldn't have been too difficult!)' I think they may believe an online poll may make a difference. When I was at work, the motto was 'get it right first time' - that applies here - no chance for voters remorse!
As this is MSE I'm waiting for the first complaints that the Leave campaign was mis-sold and a demand for compensation!:rotfl:
The online poll now has over 3 millions votes - a wonder how high it will go?Early retired - 18th December 2014

If the vote is overturned another will be instigated against that one and so on and so on.
If the vote had gone the other way, Nigel would be saying something completely different!Early retired - 18th December 2014

I find it somewhat worrying that there's a petition to over throw democracy in action. I wasn't particularly bothered either way as I don't think leaving is the disaster everyone on here is trying to make it out to be. However, I mentioned on someone else's diary I found the immigration argument in bad taste. At the moment a good amount of remainers are behaving like a petulant child who didn't have his own way.
Some people likely did vote leave for perhaps the 'wrong' reasons, as I'm sure some of those in the remain camp did too. Personally, I think there are far too many layers of bureaucracy and a unneeded want to regulate absolutely everything within the EU.2018 totals:

If it'd gone the other way then there'd be Leavers chucking their toys out of the pram.
There's bad losers on all sides of the political spectrum!

While the EU and UK crumble around us, eBay and Amazon are a steadfast rock!

Nightmare! As it is, I heard the fathers of the bride and groom took themselves off somewhere *away* from the celebrations :rotfl: And it wouldn't surprise me if there were other French contingents apart from our little Anglo-French bit, as the bride and groom both work in high powered jobs in Central London.
Thats it, I'm off out for a bit of a walk - always helps to stand upright *after* gardening and *before* a shower :rotfl:
