Sadly that seems possible doesn't it?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

It doesn't bear thinking about:eek:
I messaged TALK TALK with details of my dropped connection, and went off any sat in the garden. When I came back in, they'd messaged me to say they'd tweaked my line again.
If anything it made it worse, although it seems a bit better at the moment. Will message back to them tomorrow
But anything is better than trying to call them
EDIT -spoke too soon - it just dropped again - I have to look at the modem lights before I post anything!
Trying again.....Early retired - 18th December 2014

Your light's on, I hope the connection's a bit better for you currently, Goldie.
Good Lord, I don't like the sound of your worst case scenarioI read a piece in the Guardian this morning that sounded like Boris was one of the surprised people that Brexit was voted in - sounds like he was mostly playing politics, from what was written
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Internet connection was hellishly bad last night and this morning, and as the Talk Talk community people don't seem to work at the weekend, I can't even report it to them.
But since noon it has been a little more stable, so it's a bit easier to use.
Although I've just heard thunder in the distance, so if we have another storm that could mess it up again.
So annoying!
Interesting what they said about Boris - I've just posted something similar elsewhere.
On TV this morning, he was saying there's no rush to Brexit. After scoring a victory like this, you think he'd be jumping up and down to get on with it. I wondered if he was thinking 'what the hell have I got myself into - I didn't think Leave would actually win it!'Early retired - 18th December 2014

In some rag like the standard or metro yesterday I read a number of people voted leave on the basis they didn't think it would happen. The stupidity of such people astounds me. What a dangerous game to have played.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Oddly enough, I've also posted something similar on another thread. (prepping threads on OS)
I had noticed that reports were saying that Leave voters were more likely to be old or poorly educated, and as people in those categories often think that the establishment doesn't care about them, their Leave vote may have been, in some cases, an anti establishment vote, and not really about the EU
The demographics of the vote are very interesting. Even on MSE, I've noticed MFW has a more 'Remain' vibe, and OS has a more 'Leave' vibe.
Needless to say, my comments on the OS board have gone down like a lead balloon in some quarters - but I'm just putting forward a theoryEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Based on Boris (and maybe even Nigel), I think your theory might have legs, Goldie (or wings, whichever metaphor you prefer
). And I can imagine exactly how unwelcome it was  I'm heading over there soon

Brace yourself, some people jumped to the conclusion I was attacking them personally. As someone who is in their mid 50's and left school at the age of 16, I'd hardly likely be mounting an attack on the old and poorly educated! (although I do have 9 'O' levels!:rotfl:)Early retired - 18th December 2014

Yeah, I'm not going in there - thats like jumping into a raging sea when there's a storm on. I regret I've ever posted anything about the referendum at all - luckily, I think its been forgotten by now, and certainly never got taken up the way your posts did
