Following this with interest, so appreciate the updates folks. I haven't yet been notified so I'm guessing my 30 day notice period hasn't yet started I do however, know about the forthcoming increase as my mother has been informed.

I had an email about price increases on 29th March. Are you sure you've not had an email that's gone to a junk/spam folder or possibly just not seen it in your inbox?

    Positive I've not had it.

Thinking about it my bill is due soon, and it was when my mum got her bill that she found out about the increase so if I haven't had it with the bill or the day after I'll ring them to discuss.

I had the most bizarre eperience trying to speak to disconnections, in the hope they'd waiver the price rise.

First of all, despite me asking the process for disconnections, and stating that the reasons were

    1) They never followed up on a fault report
    2) Two price rises in a 12 month contract
    3) Really poor broadband that disconnects at random
    4) Shocking customer service

Their response was to try and get me to pay for an engineer visit to sort point number one. And they thought that instead of resolving my issues, naturally the best course of action would be to try and sell me fibre broadband for an extra £10 a month!

Also, in one breath they said I can't cancel, then they said I could when I read them the details of the email.

However, if I do cancel, I lose my landline phone number and can't take this with me to another provider.

Also, the email stated that my TalkTalk now includes TV, which I am not receiving.

Shockingly bad! I really don't know what to do!

It seems they tempt customers in with low prices, then raise prices. Their justification for being able to do this is "were still the cheapest" which is so arrogant!

Just spoken to them via live chat and got the £2 per month discount added to my account. They are still the cheapest around.

When I contacted them to inform them that following the bright spark engineers vist I still had internittent BB connection they tried to get me to sign up to their TV :wall: so I know exactly where you're coming from.

Seems that we are both in the same boat, wait until our contracts expire and then migrate. I have 5 months remaining and have recently dropped my free anytime calls boost so will save some money there.

Good luck to you indierocker85 and anyone else who is sick and tired of shoddy TT service but is contractually obliged to put up with them for some time yet.
