Parking Eye - Panic

Captain - if you can't see a difference between a council or the police issuing a speeding ticket, under statutory powers, and a private company issuing a pseudo-"fine" based on their imaginary rules, there is no point debating this.
Nobby - you are correct. The OP has 2 options that I can see. First, wait for court papers from PE, then ask the court to refer PE to POPLA as an ADR. This has already worked in a number of cases. However the OP has already ignored advice and managed to miss one POPLA deadline which suggests this could end badly. In this case I would say option 1 is a risk. Much as I hate to say this, the OP's best option is probably to swallow that bitter pill and give them the money - it's probably too late to use the new http://www.parkingticketappeals.org.uk appeal service at this stage.
EDIT (Incidentally, in terms of appealing, it never mattered whether the OP visited the store, which has nothing to do with PE's right - or lack of - to issue these charges. This is laid out in the Stickies)
It did insomuch as Coupon's suggestion to tell Aldi to get the ticket cancelled, as she was a customer on that day, but that relied on the op being able to get hold of an Aldi receipt from somewhere to suggest that she was. Lost way back in post #36 now.0 -
PE will often negotiate I see no harm in making an offer to settle this.0

The least they have accepted is £15. They often will settle for £500

I do shop at aldi on occasions, however never shopped in this town. I didn't park in the adjacent car park near aldi but further to the back behind the restaurant I went to. I wasn't there at peak times, I was there after 7pm.
I did not ignore the letter.
Thanks to those that have offered advice and tried to help. As I made an error I suppose I'll have to suck it up and pay.0 -

Sorry if I came over as a bit harsh earlier, but sometimes it's better to cut your losses. Court is stressful, and winning isn't a certainty. Maybe Hot Bring has a sure fire way to go forward, but otherwise waamo has advice you should consider.0 -

Thank you. I can usually come out fighting lol. But I'm a little sensitive at the moment.
