Club Lloyds Account Direct Debit Question

  • I can see nothing in the Ts & Cs for Club Lloyds stating that the £1500 pay-in must come from a non-LLoyds account. Anyone know differently?

With my wife I've had 5 Vantage accounts generating interest for a number of years and have moved £1000 pm between them (In fact, a very helpful Lloyds Bank manager set this up for me). I'm hoping with a few adjustments I can continue to play this daft game with Club Lloyds.

I do notice though that the Ts & Cs imply we can only have 3 accounts now rather than 5, so £10K will need to move to another bank I guess.

Your question has been favourably addressed in another thread bout the Club Lloyds account.

Could the board guides merge the Club Lloyds threads please?

Thank you, Craig ("Official Company Representative").
Some Lloyds employees will disagree with you. I tried to convert a Vantage account to Club Lloyds. There were two direct debits to O2 (two mobile phones, two different direct debit mandates). Both at the branch and on the phone they told me my account didn't qualify for Club Lloyds because it was to the same provider.

Hi eegg7777. Thanks for letting me know that there's been some confusion with this. Which branch did you visit? I'd be happy to pass on some feedback to my colleagues there if you can let me know.

If Club Lloyds is still of interest to you, you should now be able to convert to that by phone (0845 3000 000 / 01733 347 007) or in branch.

    Thanks,

    Craig

Perhaps the Lloyds bank rep could address this please.

We were told at an appointment in branch that we could no longer move the £1500 between Lloyds accounts and that it had to come from another source.

However on another thread it has been pointed out that there is nothing in the T&Cs to state this and other have set up their accounts using LLoyds accounts.

So why were we told this and why did we have to arrange alternative funding?

Yes but I would like to hear it from 'the horses mouth'!

    (no pun intended)

Hi POPPYOSCAR. I replied to your posts on the other thread earlier today. I've copied in my reply below for your convenience:

When do you get the cinema tickets?

We opened our accounts about three weeks ago and chose them as our option at the time of opening.

    Hi POPPYOSCAR,

We allow 30 days from the account opening date for customers to change the benefit they chose. After that has passed for you, the vouchers will be sent (usually within 3 working days). Info can be found here.

Does seem a bit suss as it says that the accounts are funded by each other with the £1500.

We were told that you could no longer do that like you could with the Vantage it had to come from an outside account now.

The credit of £1,500 to activate the fee waiver can be any credit payments made to the account. That includes salaries, benefits, cash, Faster Payments or standing orders. I'm not sure why you were told otherwise, so apologies for that.

    Hope this helps,

    Craig

    Thank you for your reply.

We are not happy at all at being given the wrong information and having to set up the transfer elsewhere.

We had to make a specific appointment to open the club account and sat through the video etc. we were in there for ages doing this and I am very unimpressed being given false information by a bank employee.

I have tried to find an email address to voice my concerns but cannot find one.

    Is there one please?

I have two direct debits set up:
-To repay my Duo Avios card at the end of the month.
    -To pay NI contributions monthly

Any guess if the repayment of the Duo Avois credit card would qualify as valid direct debit for Club Lloyds? When it comes to frequency it says "Not Known", but my other direct direct (for paying NI) is simply marked as "Monthly".
