Mrs GSR, I really hope your knee gets better soon. SiannieLaz, you do need to seek advice regarding this LL, he sounds awful
I'm slightly annoyed at myself. I booked a 20.00 room at devere uxbridge only to find that I cannot get a tube and a bus from Highbury to Uxbridge, but a cab from Uxbridge station. This will set me back approx 18.00 each way. So that's an unexpected 36.00 then food (which had been budgeted for). I don't actually think it's worth going, as it will knock my budget. I HATE wasting money, so don't consider not going lightly, but I should have looked into it better as it would not have been booked if I knew.36.00 doesnt sound a lot, but It's more than the room, lol and not accounted for and not essential! I can quite easily spend a whole day out with the little one doing other stuff that would come no where near that and he's still have a smile and a laugh.
Kat, you may want to try Neem oil. Very good for skin conditions:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Evening raindrops
Was very good today, only spend was on postage for ebay stuff so counting it as a SFD especially since I was in town and that would usually guarantee a spend! Got a free cookie at Millies thanks to O2, and picked up my coffee pot from JLs that I ordered at the weekend.
My job location for August got confirmed today, currently debating what would be easier/cheaper but need to find extra money for either trains or a car to get to work each day. Wondering if it's the transport equivalent of rent vs mortgage - if I get a car at least I'm paying for something I get to keep as opposed to nothing back if I pay for train fares?New graduate trying to get debt-free.
Make £5/day challenge: August £84.08/155
I owe £5400 (plus £34,000 Student Finance)

Evening All,
Many thanks Kate, Clippy_girl, moomin, Dolly84 and traveller for your advice and kind words, I will shortly be popping over to the renting thread to see what they say x
It was a horrible place to live and I hated every moment there, but I couldn't find anywhere else at the time. I had given my notice on the studio flat I was living in, never realising that once the words 'housing benefit' were mentioned, it would be so hard to find somewhere else to rent. I was a week away from moving out and 8 months pregnant when a work colleague spotted the 'for rent' sign outside a small mobile home park. Alarm bells rang as soon as the site manager introduced the landlord, a huge irish traveller. The mobile I rented was about 40 years old, freezing cold and still cost me £900 a month!
Paddy (landlord) stopped answering my calls last june, and I have sent him several recorded delivery letters asking for payment, along with copies of all documentation but as yet have had nothing back. It was only when I moved in and started telling people where I was living that I realised what a mistake I had made. I even met people who had lived there before and had left because Paddy brought the place. I won't go into everything, but the words 'firearms, intimidation and violence' came up a lot. My mum even witnessed him beating the cr*p out of some men in the car park when she came to visit one day. But I need that money back, so am going to have to proceed with recovery, I will not let that horrid man beat me!!
No SFD today as popped to the local shop for milk and bits, I must stop doing that!!! Nearly spent all my food budget and it's only the 8thTotals are so far:

Hi All,
Not doing too well on the SFD's at the moment. Only on 4/15 but still time to get on track. Silly things are getting in the way. Yesterday we had a charity function in work so donated some there ruining an otherwise SFD. No need to worry....yet :rotfl:
LTW is going really well 6/13. Only have the rest of this week and 4 days next week to go and already have rolls and stuff in the fridge and freezer to cover this. After that I am on annual leave until 6th May :j :j :j
Lots of decluttering and spring cleaning planned. OH won't know what's hit him :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Grocery budget is on target at the moment at £104.50/£150. Have full freezer with lots of meat and home made ready meals plus full fridge and Cupboards. Should only need milk and fresh veg to get us through the month. The only spanner in the works could be that it's my birthday on Good Friday and OH likes to cook a special meal. Not sure what he will want to buy. If it causes a problem I could take it out of the social budget as this has not yet been touched.
Hope everyone is having a good April so far.

Evening all
Spend day here and for a stupid reason. I am knackered and dying for it to be the Easter holidays and for who knows what reason I went to a drive thru fast food outlet in between meal times! Daft thing was that all I was craving was a chocolate bar! And I drove past loads of shops selling them and could have stopped but talked myself out of it, only to mindlessly get fast food! It would have been cheaper and less calorific! I feel like I need a good talking to about willpower!
Need to go to sleep and try make it to Friday at 3pm without too many spends or eating too much!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Evening all
How is everyone? As promised, here's a breakdown of my spends today....
£28.45 at Wholefoods (fruit, coconut yoghurt, almond milk, guacamole, bread, spinach, almond butter and a free tomato - the guy couldn't find the right code so let me have it for free)
£3.19 Handsoap (Vegan, organic and free from nasties)
£8.50 M+S (tights and in-shoe gel pads)
£1.00 Grazia magazine - completely out of character for me. I bought it because there's 25% off at LK Bennett. Bear with me - my friend and I discussed a pair of shoes she wants from there. This friend is completely useless with money and will spend £200 on a pair of shoes even although she has debt. So, in theory my £1 splurge will save her £50. Still, it's a frivolous £1 spend that I didn't need to do!
Parking was after hours so free
Phew, that wasn't that bad. I have to admit that I did think twice about justifying the soap to you all and almost didn't buy it. And I'm annoyed a little at wasting £1 on a stupid magazine.
Okay, if you can bear it, this is better for me than writing down all my spends on my spreadsheet!!0 -

I went to see a preview screening of Locke through one of the free movie websites. It was fine, but I'm glad I didn't pay for itI do have a Cineworld card though and tonight am off to see Divergent with two of my friends
