Thank you for all you congratulatory messages :) Today I have been paying the price for running so much faster than usual. Each part of me is taking it in turns to ache but I do feel a nice sense of achievement.

Unfortunately I gave in and bought kebab and chocolate for dinner this evening! Not very MSE or diet friendly, tomorrow is a fresh start!

    Evening!

    Quick check in!

SFD here... No overtime today but should rack up some on Wednesday... Saving up for the dreaded car service/MOT/tax hit next month... £175.00 put aside and add in an extra £225.00 next month. I've also cleared my CC and have £500 CR just in case - if I don't need it - I'm contemplating destroying it... I'm just not sure how else to build a credit score - or maybe I just worry about that *when* I'm debt free...?

Thanks for all the feedback on your debt free feelings and thoughts - I can't wait. I'm excited!!!

    :)

    Debt-free and Proud!
Evening, not checked in today as my knee injury flared up so badly I ended up going to A&E so is been a really tough day here. My parents came over to look after the children while DH took me.
So at the moment I am in a lot of pain and on crutches :(
On the plus side my spends are £5 under budget AND I won a fiver on the national AND a tenner at my work thing last night so I'm £15 up, wahoo!

    MORNING!

I am back at work today! Sorry for the lack of further posting yesterday! I went to drop Mummy at the station (she is safe back home now) then hit Tesco's and came home to cook and get to bed early.
    • £43.56 spent at Tescos.
    • £3.55 spent at Lidls
    • £10 donation from Mummy..
    • TOTAL = £37.06
    • A further £239 spent on travel for the month. :(
Looks like one of our systems is down at work today (hooray) so I might get in some spread-sheetary action today - I like to consolidate and know where all my pennies have gone.

    Today WILL BE AN SFD!

Hope everyone had a splendid weekend! Thank goodness this week is one day short ... :T:T:T

MrsGSR - what a horrid time for you and what a palava! How long would you be on crutches for? Big hugs though!

Abundant - it might be dreaded but you are prepared for it and that is truly fantastic! It's great to know you have the money for it don't you think? Not long now until you are debt free so keep it up and I can leave happy knowing you are out the other side...:rotfl:

Fmess I think your body can handle a bit of naughty-ness don't worry!

Mothernerd I promise I didn't bring on the rain.... foam shapes sound fun though!

LuckyStarr - £37 for an eye pallette? While still in debt? Your are kidding right? Even if you are out of your overdraft that is how it's supposed to work - giving yourself a reward defeats the purpose of changing our buying habits - I know this debt busting malarky is hard, slightly depressing at times when you look at what could have been etc - but the little spends here and there add up. I know it will probably last a long time but you could use that rule for anything, then buy anything, then never get out of debt - question... when do you see yourself getting debt free?

SiannieLaz - what is the reason he is giving you to not handing the money over? Can you call the governing body that covers the Landlord Tenancy Agreement and see if they already know of him. If indeed he is as nasty as you say he is there might be other reports on him and they might be able to help you before you go to the small claims court.

Also there is no harm in calling your local police station on 101 (nationwide non-emergency number) and give them your address and number and his details - tell them you are having issues with him, don't want any action, but just in case something happens you want the call (ie. your fear ) logged and never feel scared to call 999 if he turns up and gets nasty!

Or tell him I am coming round to have words if he touches one of my Raindrops -:mad::mad:...

Moomin what did you see?? Do you have a loyalty card with Cineworld or was it free somehow... I watched "Seeking a friend for the end of the world" last night and was very sad...:(..so I watched a bit of The Purge to balance things out a little. :rotfl:

AppleMuncher - busy day eh? I was up early with Ma to wash all the bedding as the Landlord let her use his bed so I will say snap to your busyness having clean the entire house - phew!

So my skin has gone mental. I will probably not be wearing any backless tops for a very long time. This is not attractive for ladies - we are supposed to have perfect skin right? Bullsh*t. I do not feel attractive like this but just don't know what to do about it other than let it heal.

I am back on my green smoothies for the morning, gave up the odd cuppa I have now and then and have headaches as my body rids itself of the caffeine but I am determined to get back on the super healthy bandwagon and stop being so lazy!

Sugar is a fiend and needs to be cut out of my diet. Dairy is gone, sugar is next - back to simple foods, plant based and clean! made some black beans for lunch today and red lentil humus to nibble on with celery stick ( lurrrrve me some celery) and will be drinking LOTS of water.

Agnus castus and a high dose Vit A "Hair, Skin and Nail" tablet everyday as well. Lets see where this goes...

    Right spread sheet time!

P.S - no more Pepsi either!!!

    morning all

nsk if your back is that bad could you see if the doctor could give you something to fight from within? or see if you can pick up some kind of medicated wash?

SiannieLaz- did your landlord not put your deposit in a deposit protection scheme? you should have had documentation through shortly after giving him it if he did. you can then apply to them for it back. if he did not then he has broken the law. never mind you suing him for your deposit back- i believe you can sue him for about 5 times the amount of your deposit! a line to the effect that if you have to take court action then that that is what you will be seeking may well enough to make him cough up. perhaps post brief details on the house buying and renting forum and someone may have some template letters you can use. or perhaps cab or shelter could offer some advice. fingers crossed you get it back soon.

sorry to hear about your knee mrs gsr :( hope it recovers quick!

so yest was a sfd and hoping today will be as well. got day off and am going to the gym this morning then into city for 4 mystery shops. dont think i need anything but need to exchange some sanding sheets for different ones so if they are the same price should not need to open my purse!

clearing loft stuff is a bit meh :(. i listed some free tiles and someone asked if i could deliver. i would normally say no but they lived by my work. went there at the arranged time and they werent even in! left on their doorstep and they havent even messaged me to say thanks! then someone wanted some old sheets i listed for painting and asked me to leave in garden to collect. didnt turn up and they are now soaking from the rain. so need to hang on the line now before i can list again  and sat in waiting for someone last night giving up a gym class and they didnt turn up  hopefully today will go better! this current lot is the last im going to list until bg have been and seen the loft as want to ensure there is enough up there for me to maximise chance of getting £150 for loft clearing!

Morning everyone, how did it get to the 8th already! Loving it being the holidays, though so far spent 2 days in work and 2 evenings planning.

We had a pj day yesterday as it was raining but today we are going to meet friends to take the children to a local fair.

Will add up totals later but should get dressed soon! The kids are busy making a castle out of cardboard boxes so hate to disturb them. Had a little 'luck' (if you call it that). Had T shop delivered on Saturday as they sent me a voucher. When it came I thought it didn't look like the right amount so I checked it off and there was about £35 of food missing! I called them up and they chased the delivery driver who couldn't find it. So they refunded the missing items and arranged delivery of them the next day. 15 minutes later the driver calls me to say he has found it (i'm not suspicious as all....)and delivered it, though the refund still went through. Should help with the shopping bill a bit this month.

Ive set the kids a challenge (DD age 9 and DS age 4) that this holidays we cannot spend more than £50 (we are trying to save for a house deposit) which they are quite enjoying, so far we are on £0 (though that will change today). They will be at their dads for 2 weekends so 13 days to get through before school starts again.

I'm already declaring today as a SFD and a day where I'm going to exercise. The sun is out and it looks like the perfect day to walk to pick up the free craft show tickets I won recently. That's a five mile return trip. Assuming I don't keel over, my bus spends won't go up :D

I've got washing in the machine and just finished demeatifying the chicken I roasted yesterday. The meal plan is going to need rejigging because there's enough for another 2-3 meals :D

I'm going to have to go down the small claims route

The last time I rented I had a hellish time getting my deposit back from the letting agency (who didn't have a great reputation). I sent them a recorded delivery letter saying something like "Having taken legal advice, I think I will be successful in getting my deposit back when I pursue this in the Small Claims Court system".

I had it within the week :D

The legal advice was from a friend of my dad's who had been a solicitor about twenty years previously ;)

A clearly worded letter might move him along a bit before you actually have to go down the small claims route. Good luck!

MrsGSR - hope your knee is on the mend soon.

SiannieLaz - that LL sounds horrid, hope you get it sorted with no more nonsense from him. I would definitely ring the Police especially as you are on your own with a little one. Do you have a number for your Neighborhood Police Team?

Today will be a SFD, DH has gone back to work and I will be catching up with cleaning, ironing etc. Will walk the dog and run later.
