Well I am home, scrubbed, fed and watered typing on my new MacBook Air. This cost me a lot of money and even Mumsy said "You deserve this"... SO I am relaxing a little despite the money side of things - I have waited three years for this and finally managed to buy it for cash!

Abundant when I got debt free it felt no different. I am still attempting to remain frugal but there isn't as much pressure ( which isn't good ) and therefore a few more spends that normal have been spent - I don't begrudge myself these though as it's usually a FULL PRICE packet of polos and not one from a Tescimo multipack that's been reduced to £1. Good grief listen to me - last of the big spenders.... (gotta stop eating them really)..

So a day out with Mumsy after our late delivery at noon - very annoyed - but we didn't go far. Just to the little local town for a mooch, a celebratory lunch as we are in church tomorrow and some purchases were made in the form of Holland and Barrett and M&S = thrilling we are. We were pooped though and couldn't wait to get home to relax. And Mummy missed Dorothy (not)..

Albeit Mumsy thinks Mog should go out more. It's like she knows what we are planning to do and is a nightmare to catch - but I managed it only for her to get back inside within 2 minutes via the first floor bathroom window.

Then I suggested if Mummy wants her to enjoy the outdoors she can catch her. Here ensues bedlam as puddy tat gives Mum the complete run around, hiding under the footrest, running upstairs and tearing around the living room - until she was thwarted by the broom and my Mums kind "shooing" and out she went...lol! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyhoo no real news from me. I am gonna read back now and see what you have all been up too!

    Evening all,

SFD number 3 here today :) Saturday and Sunday will be spend days as tomorrow is food shop day and Sunday I am running a 10k and think I need to pay for parking.

My spends have jumped up after having to get hydrotherapy treatment for my three-legged dog (and it is not cheap!). He needs a session a week for 3 weeks and then probably a monthly treatment after that. We did this last year and it improved his wobble a lot although over the winter he has started to wobble more again.

I'm a little miffed still at the money situation and the frustration of it. I have the money to pay off the credit card but I need to keep the money to one side for other purposes. Grrrrr

I hope you've all had productive days

  • Hi Folks,

Not done much today, just tidied up and stuff, and am on sfd2. Can anyone tell me how to get the generic smilies to work, they used to but now when I click on them nothing happens, not sure what I'm doing wrong.

A spendy day, where I tried on umpteen pairs of jeans in 9 charity shops! And found a good pair in shop 8 for ...£1. Result! They were more than 6" too long, but a quick whizz with my sewing machine soon sorted them out.

Also found some lovely curtains for the back bedroom for £8.50.

Got in another exercise session - the 'lycra-worthy' sort.

Collected dh's prescription and had to pay for it (x2), but he's bought the tickets for Drusi11a's next week, so I'm quids in really.

We're off to see gma in the week ahead, and qu1dco do money back on thetrainline, so I'll get a few pennies there.

Took 1 bag to Sally Army today and have another ready to go. At my school, we've all had a bag to fill for Sense, so I've told dh to go through his wardrobe and fill it!

Nothing done today as I have been to mum's all day. Spent money on a taxi as I renewed my library books on-line and don't think DS2 has any money for me yet so avoided town centre and taxi straight there is similar to 2 separate buses. Still struggled a bit, 3 times after sitting for a while it was 2-3 minutes before I could fully straighten me leg and put my weight on it. No problems otherwise and did manage to get down on the floor to stop the baby getting too near the fire when her mother went to pick her sister up from school - just took a few minutes to get up from the floor later.:rotfl:

Well now! I did this yesterday! There are 7 charity shops near me and we rummage through them all. One was "everything £1" and I tried on 5 pairs. Depressing to say the least. I have clearly put on a little weight and am now around a 14 instead of the usual 12 and thus find it hard to locate a pair - then with a leg length preferred of around 36" I am lost...

Went to TKMazz / River Island and there was NOTHING! So annoyed. Especially when I realise that I have to put on my jeans, then my shoes as my jeans are too tight to bend over in....:rotfl:

    Evening.

Having an absolutely fantastic day today, I am an extremely lucky and fortunate little raindrop.
    :D

We are doing our savings pots which we have been working very hard on since January and I counted the pots on the 2nd April.

We had £796 in our holiday pot and £244 in our xmas pot. However, I was telling my mum and my Daddy (who spoils me rotten and always has done) has given us a tenner!!
So our pots are now very nicely rounded to £800 in our holiday pot and £250 in our xmas pot.
In four months we have saved £1050!!!!!!!!!!!
    :j

Today was a spend day but it's because I took my mummy out for lunch (not in food budget) and bought some food (approx £7 worth, but will find the receipts to fix my signature).
    :)

Hope you have lovely bday weekend kat and I am glad to hear you are enjoying your new computer.
    :D

Hugs to all the other raindrops. (sorry, can't think of a better name for everyone this month).

Evening everyone, lots going on! I'm so happy your Mac arrived Kat :D It's a bit strange at first, but when I got mine I wanted to type all the time as I loved the sound the keys made! I still haven't worked out so many things with it - it's time to book that one-to-one that I batted my eyes to grab as a freebie! If you're gonna spend a lot of money, you better get something you love. I do hope you love yours :D

I managed another spend free day (total now = 3), although yesterday was spent stocking up on food, food and more food! I'm on a run of shifts at the minute so need everything ready to take to work with me. At home I survive on porridge or green smoothies, but need a bit more structure when I'm at work. As per my pledge, I'll list what I bought, together with associated spends, when I get home.

Exciting times on the baby front. My lovely niece was due to give birth next week, but was taken in on Thursday and induced (nothing alarming, the baby just hadn't put on any weight for a few weeks so they want it out rather than in). I've been chatting with her and texting all day and she's good...although the texts have now stopped  Given that it's almost midnight and I've not had an update, there's a chance this baby will share a birthday with Kat!!! How lovely :)

Just as well I'm on nightshift tonight - too excited to sleep :j

Sweet dreams everyone...and have a super happy birthday tomorrow Kat _party_
