  • Evening everyone, trying to keep the discipline of the check ins going up until our holiday, just a few days away now :) I have finished work - although as I either stayed on, or was still working at home until nearly midnight each day (with a few hours break for time with DD) I am shattered! Having a night off before operation clean the house starts at 8am tomorrow - Got 24 hours to pack, iron clothes for holiday, and tidy our place spotless ready for guests to use it whilst we are gone!

Confess to a spend on a takeaway - our first this year though - a total of £4.50 fishcake plus a large chips to share, plus a tin of beans (from shop not chippy). Had literally no strength for anything when spat out of work / collected DD from sports club this evening! Off for an early night. Good luck holding on to all the pennies everyone xx

    Good Evening all....

I am sat here in front of the box with Mumsy getting very exctied about tomorrow and my MacBook delivery. Unfortunately we don't know when it will be delivered so we could be wasting a morning but I had no choice... boo hiss!

Short_Bird / His_Missus - you have been added and numbered!

Today Mumsy and I HIT THE CHARITY SHOPS!!! There is a little town between where I live and where I used to live that looks like it belongs to the hoody hoodlums so I have avoided going anywhere near it. Grubby / empty town centres depress me but today we located 7 charity shops that we rummage through and had a jolly good time.

    Confession spends as follows...
    - £4.85 - lunch.
    - £0.50 - Oyster card for travel (forgot my own and used one Mum brought back to London??..and it was just a top up thank goodness. She has had money on since the last time she was over well over two years ago).
    - £3.89 - Almond milk x 2 on offer / Mummys cow milk and a treat for a girlfriend for 28p who we didn't see so Mummy ate it...lol!
    - £89p - two lemons and a bag of yellow sticker bagels for 28p. Must have been 10 of 'em in there..

Anyway Mummy treated me to 3 new items from the shops ( Total fee - £8 ) which will go to jazzing up my work wardrobe. Although it was slightly depressing trying on new jeans that were all too tight. I could lose weight like I have done before to fit into the ones I have but how can I get around feeling wrecked every evening and working 6 days a week? Maybe when I get to Thailand and live on noodles the weight will go..

AppleMuncher I will promise to steer clear of Pepsi Max after my Birthday - new beginnings and the sugar is screwing with my skin. I have just felt rather lazy recently and only started drinking it "for a treat" - now unfortunately it's 2-3 times a week....

Mother is currently bonding with Dorothy...:):):)..She's realised how cheeky moggy is. We turfed her out to experiance the outdoors and she just laps the house and comes in through the first floor window. Mummy has put her own clothes over the expensive sofa to protect it from moggy claws or the evening and moggy pushes up under it... it's quite fun to watch... mog thinks it's a game clearly...

Anyway enough wittering from me..... Hope everyone that's ill feels better soon... Another day of bargain hunting for us so I will update later tomorrow evening...

    Onwards and Upwards...

Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".

 Quick check in, more tomorrow after my exam!

No SFD today as bought a very tasty drink at the gym while revising and waiting for my class. So I'm on:

    2/15 SFDs
3/12 gym sessions (my legs are feeling it)

Could really do with the neighbours turning down their thumpy music... I'm a bit annoyed that I can hear it despite the fact we're not attached! And i don't have brilliant hearing!

Oh no cottage retreatist I'm so sorry to hear that!

mothernerd you are a complete inspiration!

SFD number 2 here today and not sure why but I'm feeling rather giddy and happy all of a sudden, after feeling sluggish and unwell all day. Maybe it's the fact that the rain seems to be clearing this horrible pollution cloud :)

Done another tutoring session this evening so that's a little more money earnt. Trying to resist paying it off my ccard. If I did, I could be ccard debt free in a week and a half :) but I need to get an electrician in within the next 3 weeks and don't gave the money to pay for the work unless I save my tutoring wages :( grrrr.

I can't wait until the start of the weekend and a bit of time together with OH after his first week of nights.

    Good evening.

Have read all the posts but can't remember much as I am quite tired after my run of three shifts.

    1st April = spend-free day number 1.
2nd April = spend day but it was using old money.
    3rd April = spend-free day number 2.

So, I have spent money however, it didn't come from the budget for April.
I was feeling a bit annoyed at having £80 for 3 weeks as I couldn't figure out how to split it... so I have reduced it to £75 and we are having £25 each week.
    :o

We have added in our money to our savings pots and we have...

    Holiday pot = £794.
    Xmas pot = £244.
    GRAND TOTAL = £1040!!!!!!!
    :j

I have never saved so much money before and I love the fact that we are doing this as a couple.
    :happyhear

We have a new plan which I really like the sound of. We are each going to put £100 (which is coming from my main account and his account) into his ISA. The aim is to save for a possible family holiday next year.
If we do this then we can use our holiday pot to go away in the bongo (campervan) which we really want to do.
    :D

I can't really think of anything else to say... I will re-read the other posts tomorrow once I am more awake. Sorry.

    Night night raindrops.
    Hugs.
