• hello all!

Only clocked up 1 NSD unfortunately so far - a bit scuppered as I've had to go to the hospital because they are a bit unsure about something so I had to go and get it check out :(

so it's kinda put me off the whole NSD path - OH bought me reduced price roses and chocolate for being brave during my hospital visit!! so that destroyed a NSD!!

Nearly at my debt payment target - just 1 major payment to make! :D

Freezer spag bol for supper tonight - which I am very happy about, and back on the debt-busting wagon after my slip-up!

PS - OH lost his job on wednesday! yay!!!!!!!!! (not):mad::mad:

hope everyone else is good? and it is so great reading everyone elses's reasons for getting in debt - everyone says its because we all buy fancy sports cars and fritter money but the reality is - that's so not true, there are so many factors and I just want to give everyone a big hug :grouphug:

Quick post as I'm not in a great mood today.

First NSD of the month.

Car is still at the garage. They attempted to make out like it wasn't their fault. Wasn't taking that at all.

Could have done with being at work today!

evening all

got most of my tasks done but only had a swim at the gym and got a headache so not gone salsa :(

british gas survey booked so need to go and declutter loft at the weekend. will sort it but leave it up there as want it to look bad so i can try and get the £150 to clear it (mse email seems to suggest you get it whether you pay someone or not). need to inspect, photograph and measure floorboards to get an idea of what i can sell them for and measure the spare door as if it doesnt fit the doorway can get rid of that as well.

did weekly shop at tesco express as only needed 5 items and could walk there. killed me to pay £1.14 for yoghurt though when its 45p in aldi  but still saved as didnt need to use car. means i can now have sfd tomorrow :)

I was wondering - for those who are now debt free - how did it feel to begin with? Did you feel guilty for buying things, after having had to go for so long without...? Does your quality of life improve? Do the debt worries just get replaced with something else, or do you genuinely feel like a weight has been lifted...?

i have only been debt free for a week so i am in the 'woohoo im debt free, can buy whatever i want stage'!! :naughty: hence my holiday booking yesterday :o

it feels great to not have it but im also a bit worried about going back into debt again as need to get a new lodger (sure there will be no problem but still a bit worried). will be much more relieved when thats sorted :)

Evening All,

Not SFD for me today, drove to A*da as according to comparison site, they had the cat food I get much cheaper. They don't!! What an awful shop, nothing I normally buy was cheaper, and instead of just walking out and heading back to aldini and Mr T, I stayed and shopped and spent £43.80. I only got basics! It was a 20 min drive there and back so all in all a lesson learnt. I should have made the effort and come back rather than just thinking 'I can't be bothered to turn round and go to another shop'.

Took DD to get her feet measured and she's grown! No other part of her has! So that was another £28 on shoes :( Also bought her some t-shirts (£7) and some sunglasses (£3.50). Feel stupid now, after writing it down!

Got the renewal for my cats insurance today, it's gone up to £72 per month :( Called them and got it down to £61 (what it is now) but due to their age (14) they wouldn't go any lower and I can't get them insured anywhere else. Am in two minds whether to cancel it or not, part of me knows I can't afford it, but if they get ill, I can't afford that either. I really don't know what to do for the best :(

Went out early to collect Avon brochures, visited 40 houses, got only 3 brochures back and they said they didn't want them again. I get the distinct feeling this is going to be a long, hard slog to just break even! But hey ho, I'll keep plugging away for a while longer yet.

So totals now:
1/15 SFD
£54.12/£100 food budget
5/30 items decluttered
2/18 Exercise 3x weekly
3/31 Meal plan and eat 3 times a day
£0/£3 food bank
Get all paperwork organised
All a/c I do for others up to date
3/31 Keep the flat looking straight, not the current 'a bomb's just gone off' look
3/31 Update my budget spreadsheet daily
3/31 NO TV

Have a great eve all, and happy Friday for tmrw xxx

Spend free day and have done 3 x 15 minutes of attacking the festering swamp that is my house. The second bout - sweeping the bathroom floor (plaster/paint assorted detritus) with a hand brush and then cleaning the bath and sink using the now established method of holding onto/ propping myself up on the bath/sink/ cupboard with one hand and spraying/ wiping with the other (at one point my left arm made a rigid L shape resting on my slightly bent knees - nothing else in holding distance). This left me with aching knees and buttocks, shaking all over like I'd just completed a Jane Fonda workout - and not an inch of lycra in sight. mind you I'd have more luck fashioning an exercise outfit from a passing dirigible.

Several hours have passed and I've just pegged out 2 loads of washing (in the dark and the rain) and mopped the bathroom (but left the little drawers where they were instead of removing everything from the room).

May be returning to the doctor's on Monday - I am massively improved but would like advice on what/ how much I should be doing now - passed on the painting again (all of ten minutes work).

So I have a song/ mantra for the month

Fortunately it takes very little to make me happy. Not sure about the power shower - it just reminds me about the shower rail (been trying to get rust spots off it for the past couple of months and had an earlier attempt in Summer, but a replacement will cost £150 :eek:so will just keep trying).

checking in with a spend day, but a really good use of my money - I helped with getting a nearly new sale set up and bagged a load of super summer clothes for my daughter. She'll only need a couple of pairs of shorts and a skirt or two now which will save me loads of money. I am very pleased.
Otherwise I didn't spend anything and have made a list of all the food we have in so I can plan out my meals for the next week.
Seriously money saving

Good evening.
Another NSD making 3/20.
20 items now on e-b@y
Made veg curry with the odds and ends of veg in the fridge, enough for 4 portions.
Started a cross stitch card as my stash is slowly taking over the flat.If I start making my own cards I shouldn't have to buy any.
That's it really.Quite an uneventful day.
