    Morning all!
I'm still off from work as the little fella was not up to school again. I felt a right moo waking him up at 7.15. I took one look at him and was a bit unsure. He went through getting dressed ect but he clearly was ill :( I have told work I probably won't be back till friday. I was hoping to take a few days off with him other than the statutory days for easter, but at this rate, I will have hardly any leave left :( We will however, have our overnight stay in the devere denham grove hotel in Uxbridge on the 15th,lol. It was a 20.00 room in their sale. I just hope he gets better as I can't stand him not being well and there seems to be a lot of it with the little ones. Missyv-hugs to you and your little one :)

Kat, by the nature of my job, no-one is nice when they see me or are summoned to. However, it's never as bad as you think. There are some people who really do appreciate what help you give them

In your role, you would most likely act as mediator between another person and my organisation and many others, so you would be seen as the good guy. I never am and am seen as I have no idea( little do they know eh) it really is a case of, but for the grace of God,go I. Don't worry. We are all human and when people are in need, we tend to just see the person in front of us and get rid of any perceptions. At first, I always used to take things personally or think about things all the way home. But now, I realise, when people are angry and effing and blinding, It's not me they are angry at, but the problem itself and what they think I represent. Also, it's pride. We live in a world where we are judged in mass but what we have, people feel vulnerable and belittled when someone has to deal with what they see as failure. But your made of stern stuff, so feel the fear and do it anyway :D

Well I've had a NSD today and gained 60.00 from quidco :T So very happy, as that will pay for daughters passport. I just have to add 21.00 to it!

Good luck everyone and keep going :T

that's so funny! It shouldn't be but it is and you are right. Not everyone can be brought up in the same way, or have the same facilities etc or notice their own smell so you need to just plow on... and yes I would hope further training is given if I was to face the public...

Travellor - from what I gather the Money Mentor can have referrals of folks who are either not making their benefits stretch long enough, aren't looking for jobs so need advise on budgeting and such like so sometimes they REALLY don't want to be there. I am intrigued by your work now - can you inbox me..?

I think your comment about pride hits the nail on the head. We don't want to be seen as poor hence plastic credit, we don't want to ask for help because we might be seen as weak hence payday loans and so the vicious circle continues....

Well done on the passport/Quidco money though and MrsGSR - YES to that!!!

Okay I am leaving you all now for a check in later tonight after I meet Mumsy and get her home safely!...:T:T:T

Anyway... I am going to list my spends. Having to confess makes things more real...

What a great idea! I think this might make me think twice when I'm spending (I mean really, how often can I come here and confess to spending £5.99 on green juice? Although FWIW, I love the green juice and it's doing me good so it's better than confessing to spending £5.99 on beer - no?)

So far yesterday and today are SFDs, but I'll need to shop tomorrow morning as I have a run of shifts for the next 5 days and need to prep the food in advance as much as I can.

    My April Aims will be:
    1. List all my misc spends - eek, this actually feels like the scariest thing I've ever committed to
    2. 15 SFDs (2/15 counting today)
    3. 20 full on lycra wearing, sweat it out exercise sessions (2/20 counting tonight's class)
    4. 8 days at job number 2 (1/8 counting today)
    5. List 10 items on ebay
    6. Declutter the equivalent of 5 bin bags full of stuff
    7. Donate a bag of food to the food bank

short_bird, I remember part of a training course I was on once covered learning how to tell someone they smell. Thankfully I never had to put it into practice!

Have a fab few days with Mama Kat, Kat :D

  • Well I have broken my rules already!! Was in Waitrose and thought that as I was going to a friend's tomorrow for our pre-wedding plans (I am a bridemaid for her this Saturday) I would take a bottle of wine with me. Completely forgetting my no alcohol rule! That one will be in place when I am back at home though. It's always trickier when away from home!

    • Post daily: 2/30 ;)
    • Decluttering: 4/100
    • Jobs applied for: 2
    • Exercise: 1/20
    • SFD: 2/15
    • Travel (bus): £5/£40
    • Food: £2.03/£150
    • Petrol: 0/£100
    • Misc spends: 0/£160

I did pretty well today. I had to get the bus to the garage to go and talk to them about my car (still with them sadly!) so bought a day ticket to get extra value out of my travel. This meant I forced myself to update my CV and head to town to speak to some agencies today because I had already paid for the travel.

I resisted the lure of things I didn't need to buy, but managed to get a book for my nephew's birthday using book tokens :money: I then met a friend for tea and cake at John Lewis using my voucher for a free tea and cake :D I then got my exercise walking round town to undo the tea and cake :o

I've also booked a trip to the pictures next weekend thanks to one of the free film sites. I have a cinema pass, but one of my friends loves the movies and can't afford a pass, so we tend to go to previews and Orange Wednesdays.

I'm feeling quite positive today so I'm spending the rest of the night in my craftroom making pretty things. Hope everyone else is doing well.
