Evening all,
SFD number 1 today
Nothing much to note, no official exercise, just dog walking. OH has started working nights tonight so its a big change of routine here and a little odd. Glad I'm on a SFD otherwise I would be tempted by a huge tub of ice cream from the local shop!
Hope you've all had a good dayLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Right, the card is in the freezer! DD saw me putting it in there and said "why are you freezing water Mummy?" Bless her!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0

Well Good Evening Contenders....
I am sat here on my bum infront of the TV nursing my arms after a few more injections today! Been lovely to read what everyone is aiming for. Abundant I am so impressed with the fact you will be debt free in October..
Thrifty hang around and comment when you want - we won't hold you to the challenge of course but would love a check in from you now and then to know you are ok....
My goals..- 4 overtime shifts ( 1 confirmed already ).
- Make another £400 somehow - possbly through eBay.
- Complete my "Teach Me" financial online course by the end of the month.
- Complete my "Money Mentor" coursework in the next week.
- Plot and Scheme my travel blog and complete the initial construction.
- Steer clear of that stupid dirty tempation thats situated SO close to my work plase - SAINSBOBS!
- Cook more and prep better for work.
There you go. Not much I guess but I need to get the study out of the way and tear myself away from the gogglebox! It's hard at the end of the day when all I want to do is vegetate in front of the TV - but that's what we are here for isn't it. To improve our lives!!!
Well now - on that happy note me and the Mog are off to beddington.
Until tomorrow Contenders - keep up the good spirits!!!
Onwards and Upwards!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

Well have not had the greatest starts to this month but they say things are sent to try us. I am too tired to post my goals and how I got here but will do Tom after I have taken my daughter to the doctors. If it doesn't rain it pours with me I must have been really bad in a previous life.:j

NSK, the house was a dream. The house came onto the market and it was like my dream house, a small detached cottage made of pink granite with a beautiful garden with a pink granite wall round it and a greenhouse and room for a vegetable plot. It was the sort of house that my childhood dreams were made of (if that makes sense).
However, it was way out of my league and with my debts (the loan, credit card, mortgage, etc), there was just no way I could afford it.
Sadly, had I been more sensible with my money, had no debts and realised that I could pay my mortgage faster and done that then I could maybe have afforded the house.
It's surprising how much it can change a person as now I am trying to sort out my finances and even now, I feel a little teary when I see the house. The problem is that it was slightly out of my price range before but needed work done, once the work is done it will be completely out of my price range (going from £250k up to £460k).
So I want to sort out my finances so that if this situation ever arises again, I am in a better position and maybe someday can get that dream house.
Anyways, sorry about the long-winded post. I just thought I would explain to NSK.
Hugs to everyone.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Okay 1st spend free day and the bank loan payment has gone out today so another chip off the debt. Leg is improving and I have washed and hung out the bathmats and watered all the seedlings in the front room and vestibule (12+ trips from front to back of the house so definite progress). hoping from tomorrow to do tasks in 15 minute chunks with plenty of rest in between.
Meant to put something in the aims about a little gardening everyday but diy, housework and the garden will all be done as 15 minute chunks. Also forgot Easter and birthdays (had it on my list) so those will have to go in contingencies. looking like £50 for DS3 - he was trying to show me something last night but went away to see if there was anything else.
He didn't really get a Christmas present (wasn't impressed by the kettle) and I did promise to buy him something later on. Have to keep him sweet as I currently owe him for the bark, the work his friend did last month and 1 takeaway (they had at least 3 but I only have to pay for one and they ordered extra sauce a couple of times which made extra meals for them with meat and veg thrown in (handy when we had been working on the house all day).
Had a really bad night and only managed to sleep at 11am this morning. Sorry I will share what is going on with you, but I can feel the stomach gremlins churning so will leave it a while. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening everyone,
My 'how I got here' story - Partly circumstances, partly sheer stupidity. Worked since I was 15 and was never in debt until about 15 years ago when my marriage ended very badly and I had no choice but to leave with 3 kids and start again from scratch, and although I kept working it was very difficult financially for a good while and I stupidly resorted to credit cards, loans etc . Anyways I eventually got back on my feet and bought my house, then met my partner and things were good until we both got very ill and couldn't work, as some of you may know I am now on my own again, i'm on a DMP and a very strict budget, and starting to look forward again thanks to my amazing family.
Whats left after paying direct debits
£60 food
£30 Birthdays
£3 foodbank
Goals for April
15 sfds
Lose 3lb in weight
stick to my budget
enjoy a birthday night out (my dads 75 this week)Total debt - £16,687.86 approx. - Paid so far - £13,156.30 - £350. a month to DMP - DFD 17/01/2019 But I WILL make it sooner!!0 -
First spend free day yesterday, mostly because I didn't leave the flat because I was too busy conquering the essay of doom (not the best use of a day's annual leave really!) However, SFD 1/15 accomplished. Essay is being handed in today, so that's another goal, although having uni tonight does mean I'm going to have to pay for parking, so that won't be a SFD. I have high hopes for tomorrow though.Proud to be debt free September 2014. :j

Off on a course today so lunch provided, not quite in keeping with my healthy eating aims but free at least! Just got to stay away from the pork pies and sausage rolls...“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”
