Have just read about the new changes on the PruHealth site,and just wondered if anyone knew
Pru have been telling members they keep their status just the points are re-set.0 -
I emailed them about this and got this in response:Dear Mr Ashe
Thank you for contacting us through our website today.
The pricing structure won't affect members until November 2008, with the first changes regarding payment effective from 1 December 2008.
In view of the change, we have opened a "window period" within which you can opt out of your contract between 26 June and 31 December 2008. You will be able to use this available time to decide whether you are confident in reaching Platinum Vitality status and reducing your gym membership fees.
We will still monitor visits that your gym sends to us because you are entitled to the Vitality points for this activity.
You earn a maximum of 10 points for every visit up to a maximum of one workout a day and 15 workouts a month.
We are not imposing a 12-month contractual obligation for new gym memberships or PruHealth policies. You are able to cancel your gym membership without cancelling your policy.
If the cancellation date for your gym membership is before the 15th of the month, you will not pay for that month. If it is on or after the 15th of the month, you will need to make payment for the full month.
If you have any questions or require further information, please call us on 0800 092 7333. Alternatively, you can send us a secure message from our website www.pruhealth.co.uk. Also, find out how to increase your Vitality rewards by visiting www.pruvitality.co.uk.
Yours sincerely

So it looks like there should be no problems in cancelling anytime until December which is very useful.0 -

that's fine, but I'm assuming you have to re-earn another 2000 points in that year (to stay at platinum for the next year...), is that right?0 -

Only recently joined, so does that mean if we only get to silver, we are silver for the whole of the next year??!0 -
You're silver until you earn enough points to increase your status0

Just got a quote for £33 plus for the gym you have to pay an extra £25 which works out at nearly £60 per month. i thought you would get the gym included in the price of £33. i was wrong.
Are there any other insurance companies operating these schemes.

How do I go about cancelling the gym membership?
I am with virgin and signed up in December, do you have to give amonths notice or soemthing/0 -
Very interesting about the changes, although having got platinum 6 months in to my first year, i'm not too worried - got my renewal notice today - £8 a month for 2 people with gym membership. That is a money saving bargain if I ever saw one!0

well, we need 2250 for me and the missus to make gold - should just make it
730 at the moment
300 = 2x non-smokers
100 = 2x Online Activation
100 = 1x Personal Health Review
200 = gym
30 = reading
so i reckon :-
100 = 1x Personal Health Review
900 = 2x gym 15 times per month for 3 months
200 = 2x gym remaining July
200 = 2x dentist
600 = 2x fitness assessment
200 = 10x sainsburys fruit run
70+ some education....
wow - thats actually platinum - 3000+!!! Is this right?0 -

I think the dentist points are for under a certain age for kids only.
Everyone should invest in the Fitbug (easy points) if they don't already have one and single polices will need it for next year maybe joint ones too.0
